Rod Wave did 140k last album without half the support from Alamo.
Hopefully someone at the label realizes they have a real superstar before it’s too late
I think Cole should be in same bracket as Ye and Drake... Cole's album was significantly shorter, like half, than both their albums. A length difference that large impacts first week for sure
This is true. Well if we move Cole then the only discrepancy is Cardi B and Uzi.
Do you consider them on megastar level?
If so then there is no need for that middle designation of super star
So is the new measurement
Megastars: 400 - 600k +
Superstars: 250k - 400k
Star: 150k - 250k
Bubbling 95k - 149k
Solid - 50k - 94k
Under 50k got work to do unless you super new
I think the bubbling is off, doing 100k this era is a star tbh. I mean meg is one and she only did like 90 or so

Yeah. i think anyone over that 250 is a "megastar". Eminem too (his 2020 release did 270K)

It's true. First week numbers might not be the best way to rate artist
But it's kinda accurate as well.

And cleared 1M by end of 2021. And is one of the top streamed artists in the US this year without being a pop/legacy act or any recently released projects
saw ppl doubting he’d do 100K which was wild to me
Durk selling this much is like the least surprising thing to happen lately
Rap is def changing guards slowly.
5 years gonna be insane to see who on top.
Real street rappers running this
The fans are tired of the cap raps.
Even drakes biggest singles from his last album featured street rappers (and they did majority of the song (hook+verses)
Once he drops that single we are all waiting for he gonna be right back
Yeah he’ll always be able to come with a single.
S*** that “wig” snippet he posted on his ig might be the one.
I think his ability to make a consistent album is coming into question
From 2021 - now the only rap albums that did over 150K fw are
CLB (613K)
Donda (309K, mid week release - 4.5 days of sales)
Off Season (282K)
Call Me If You Get Lost (169K)
Drip Season 4Ever (151K)
Voice of the Heroes (150K)
Also not rap but Summer Walker did 166K last year
Voice of the heroes did that much? usually the collab album dont do that well first week
With no features while in jail and couldn’t promo
Take Morgan wallen Future and gunna songs off and what would his sales be
He still would be over 100k...
Voice of the heroes did that much? usually the collab album dont do that well first week
They usually do less than the bigger artists first week.
Baby in 2020 - 197K
Durk in 2020 - 66K (first full week)
Collab album: 150K
Drake in 2015 - 535K (mixtape)
Future in 2015: 151K
Collab: 375K
Being a collab album vs a collab mixtape another factor.
So is the new measurement
Megastars: 400 - 600k +
Superstars: 250k - 400k
Star: 150k - 250k
Bubbling 95k - 149k
Solid - 50k - 94k
Under 50k got work to do unless you super new
Overall sales says more then first week
Gunna still the bar so far this year
Gunna has album of the year right now
He still would be over 100k...
eh the future and gunna songs the 2nd and 3rd most streamed on Apple Music
Future and Morgan wallen song the 2 most streamed on Spotify from his album
YB pulled 140k ZERO FEATURES but these numbers good for Durk I was only responding to the guy who said L for Youngboy
Overall sales says more then first week
This is a good point too!
Here is the album sales top 50 for 2021
RodWave (130K), Polo G (143K), MoneyBagg Yo (110K) all sold significantly less than Kanye (309K) and J Cole (282K) first week but are ahead overall.
Obviously if you drop in January/album from a previous year you get 12 months vs dropping in December you only get 1 month but still interesting.
Also pre release single units from 2021 are included in this
I think the bubbling is off, doing 100k this era is a star tbh. I mean meg is one and she only did like 90 or so
I think horsegirl did exactly 100k
Overall sales says more then first week
i think overall sales are more important but can also fool u because 1 hit song can carry an album the whole year and they still not be a superstar come next album(Roddy)

I mean Kanye is mostly spectacle, people tune in first week after he has months of fake beefs and staged psychotic episodes.
He hasn’t made (or rather his ghost writers) havent made good music in years. Not really a fair comparison

the morgan wallen song been out so of course it has the most streams on spotify 💀💀
Durk wouldve easily cleared 100k without it
