I love Drake's music as much as the next guy in this forum, but I feel like Drake isn't dropping CLB because LNCL didn't get #1 on billboard and wasn't the big hit he wanted it to be. With his last 2 albums, One Dance and God's Plan did the trick for him, but this time around he didn't drop a song to that caliber (popularity wise). I feel like Drake would've dropped by now or at least announced a date if LNCL was close the #1 hit that Gods Plan was. I think he's missing that certified hit on his album and thats holding it back. Not hating in the slightest just speculating.
high chance of lower sales due to covid most likely main reason it's not dropping
I doubt we're getting anything 2020
If he was that focused on going #1 I don’t think he would’ve dropped when WAP was still as strong as it was that week. It was obvious it would’ve been a struggle to get the #1 from them, even without the gimmicks they played to keep it.

Oh okay cool , since LNCL wasn’t the biggest hit ever we not gonna get the album he still promoting. Thanks for that info
Nah don’t think this it. I understand chart positions can be a bit tricky to understand but if you know the way that s*** is calculated, LNCL is bigger than every number 1 this year except from WAP and maybe the box and that BTS song they keep spam buying.

I heard October’s in 2020

Scorpion was the only Drake album that had #1 hit before album dropped
Think your reaching Op Drake has dropped many albums without a number 1 single the pandemic has made the foreseeable future uncertain which is why a lot of artists have held back releasing
Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, and IYRTITL (the most critically acclaimed projects of his career) have a combined total of ZERO #1 Billboard hits. So if history is repeating itself, we and Drake should know this one is another classic

If that was the case he'd drop another single

Youre a special type of stupid
all of yous gonna be singing a different tune this winter.
wow thanks creed
If it was that important he’d just merch bundle and do the tricks everybody else is doing to force number 1. His song is the 2nd most streamed song of the week lol
Nah scrap... He ain’t worried about another #1. He got that out the way with Toosie 👌🏽 #2 song in the country is actually hella successful. Let’s not forget Hotline Bling peaked at #2 and that song was massive. Most rappers never reach the top 10 and he has like 50 songs that landed in the top 5.
For perspective Hov never had a #1 as a solo lead until “Empire State of Mind” when he was way past his prime. Drake himself didn’t start scoring solo number ones until Scorpion. I believe streaming has made hip-hop a lot bigger so going #1 is more common/achievable but let’s not act like anything less than #1 is a failure.
1. Did not read
2. I think Drake is taking his time
3. His legacy not in jeopardy
4. Album will be straight headphone music due to the vid
5. Which will make it a classic

Why would covid mean lower sales?
Why would covid mean lower sales?
Spending across most categories has dropped. Money is tight for a lot of people right now, so they're less likely going to drop $$$ on non-essentials like a Drake album
Why would covid mean lower sales?
no in person interview promo
no concerts
no live performances with interviews
no club appearances
Just promo in general has taken an L
People don't consume music nowadays as much as they used to....no clubbing/no outings = less music played = less streams
we'll see though.....
ONCE AGAIN, this is only in the assumption that he REALLY CARES about first week sales
If he doesn't, then it's coming out this month.
