no in person interview promo
no concerts
no live performances with interviews
no club appearances
Just promo in general has taken an L
People don't consume music nowadays as much as they used to....no clubbing/no outings = less music played = less streams
we'll see though.....
ONCE AGAIN, this is only in the assumption that he REALLY CARES about first week sales
If he doesn't, then it's coming out this month.
His income like touring and s*** i can see that getting a hit
But i cant see his album sales getting a hit at all
People need to stay at home more too, so you would think they actually stream more that way
Spending across most categories has dropped. Money is tight for a lot of people right now, so they're less likely going to drop $$$ on non-essentials like a Drake album
Sales down anyway
Streaming is where its at and if i look at the Pop Smoke album its doing fine
I agree with OP. I thought it was odd that Drake has been dropping so many features recently. I view it as him trying to snowball some hype for his album. Only You Freestyle, 2 popcaan features, two dj khaled features, Mr Right Now, Outta Time, all these features in less than a few months and his album is apparently dropping soon.
Lets be real, no one is really talking about CLB besides his fans. At least I don't really see anyone talking about it. The album doesn't have huge singles to back it up like Scorpion did or much promotion from a beef. It feels like if CLB dropped this week it would be forgotten and not captivate people's attention and remain in their minds like it should.
I honestly cant see the benefits of dropping an album this year. Not being able to properly benefit off an album release with a tour is a huge downside for any artist. No one knows when concerts are actually coming back either
Also i agree with people about the lack of hype right now. Drake and his team have been smart for the most part but the oversaturation coming from features/leaks etc have hurt him. Drake needs to let the people miss him a little
lets face it, the fact that LNCR didnt hit number 1 discourged the team BIG TIME
everyone in te biz knows one bad album drop can ruin an entire person's career.

Bruh why do y’all keep trying to act like #2 on the hot 100 is a flop
Bruh why do y’all keep trying to act like #2 on the hot 100 is a flop
It dropped after that though
And???
It’s still sitting at number 4 as we speak after all this time... LNCL is one of the biggest hits of the year... Stop this lol
I love Drake's music as much as the next guy in this forum, but I feel like Drake isn't dropping CLB because LNCL didn't get #1 on billboard and wasn't the big hit he wanted it to be. With his last 2 albums, One Dance and God's Plan did the trick for him, but this time around he didn't drop a song to that caliber (popularity wise). I feel like Drake would've dropped by now or at least announced a date if LNCL was close the #1 hit that Gods Plan was. I think he's missing that certified hit on his album and thats holding it back. Not hating in the slightest just speculating.
i think LNCL is one of his best songs/melodies in his career tbh. COVID made it tough to find momentum although I still play the s*** out of it.
