There is this seriously weird threshold on both the right and the left where people become so entrenched in their respective political circlejerk that they actually become schizophrenics.
It doesn't help that every unhinged idiot gets a specially curated news feed piped straight to their phones 24/7 which validates and accelerates the insanity.
That’s not how schizophrenia works but alright.
It’s weird af for real. Folks make politics their identity. Always wondered if this is the norm in other countries. Always felt like it was more of a rich vs poor, race vs race, etc type thing. Here, we have all that on top of conservatives vs liberals
race and class are both mediated by politics… in the us, for example, most racial formations have come into definition through the passage of exclusionary laws (in terms of citizenship, immigration restriction, fitness for enslavement and/or land dispossession, etc). In Chile, for another example, they had a popular workers party that elected President Allende to better support the rights of workers (so, an explicit class-based approach to politics). Unfortunately his party was subjected to a coup (aided by the US) and many workers were repressed and disappeared in the resulting years. I’m not sure what definition of politics would leave out matters of race and class
Word salad post ^
2023 and ppl still doing the both sides are extreme and bad
granted their concept of far left is seeing a blue hair girl on twitter say something about trans ppl
Meanwhile you had ppl waving confederate flags on Capitol Hill and ppl like Tucker Carlson pushing the Great Replacement Theory on live TV
Be a news junkie at your own peril. Politics was always for the birds, but it’s full on lunacy now. It will drive you crazy and make you look at your friends and family (and evidently, strangers) funny and vice versa. It does not help you in any way shape or form.
i would assume most who liked this are upper class, support the status quo bc they benefit from it, or are unfortunately ignorant.
Of course, for the latter, it does illustrate the aim of politicians seeking to further constrain what topics can be taught at school. Education being another relevant aspect of politics
It’s worth saying, politics should not be about self-attainment (unless you are a grifter) so much as a desire to protect the rights of those around you. However one goes about defining their community. If your community is not under threat of political violence (ie, an unjust restriction of rights) it is worth asking whose is.
You ever hear libs talk about politics irl? Or aoc stans? Mental illness.

Intersectionality

Late capitalism
Anti capitalism
yeah they're awful
I won’t say they’re awful people, just silly. I actually had a guy like that during my first college internship. Hardcore Christian, right wing guy. Conspiracy theories galore. But guy was a great guy, straight up. Just wish life were simpler and we didnt argue over trivial things🤷♂️

Patriarchy stuff corny, strictly Twitter nonsense
Praxis never heard of
Anti/late capitalism has always been a thing and isn’t an extreme either. A lot of the civil rights movement was built on anti capitalism and I think most people acknowledge that there are flaws in capitalism but we don’t know of a better system as of yet. Lastly US isn’t fully capitalistic in the first place.
And the intersectionality isn’t far left either, it’s literally just saying belonging to certain groups and the overlapping nature can create different circumstances and that is true as of now. Maybe one day, none of this stuff will matter

US isn't fully capitalist its techno feudalist and socialist for the top .01%.
I'm not taking the angle that those buzzwords are bad, they're just not critical enough for me. Say you're a communist/marxist or talk about something else. Don't use instagram explore page political speak to stroke your own ego
Intersectionality is institutional lib talk. There will never be anything related to that term that is worth merit
actual bots
identity politics has ruined any topic on social media if that s*** really start becoming prelevant irl it’s over and it’s not gonna be fixed for a while

anti-capitalism has been a thing for as long as capitalism has been the dominant system, it hasn’t always been around.
Yes there is a reason why civil rights movements and other black liberation movements have been anti-capitalist, you can’t reform a system that was built off the labor of enslaved people, stolen from natives, and the founding government put private property and protecting it above human rights. It’s inherent to the system.
Socialism is the system that has shown to work, but the US dedicated the entire last century besides maybe WW2 to crushing socialist movements worldwide. It’s not cuz communism is evil and doesn’t work.

and no country has a pure mode of production anyways so that’s redundant. For all extensive purposes US is capitalist and so is most of the world lol. US state just intervened on behalf of the capitalists even moreso than other capitalist countries. Which speaks volumes to how bad American capitalism is at providing for the average working person
Far left s*** is insane too
Not to the point of far right stuff. Yeah, I agree that these people who get their politics from twitter takes are insane too. However this bullshit that the GOP is currently doing is a collapse of society. They have power and are gaining control scarily.
Only thing more crazy is how normalized far left s*** is becoming
If far left takes control humans wont make it to 2150
Far left s*** is insane too
except in America far left isn’t even far left lmao. This whole thread yall been saying to is when you really just mean whatever socdem you saw on twitter. That is not far left 😂Which isn’t ur fault but just shows how skewed American centric politics are
and if that’s your version of normalized then go outside, because the US is very actively trying it’s hardest to denounce and distance and demonize anyone and anything socialist/communist on both sides. (Imagine if far left s*** was actually normalized )
Twitter /= real life, the actual “far left” is nowhere near strong enough to take power and any fearmongering is you drinking the ko plaid.
If far left takes control humans wont make it to 2150
we probably won’t make it that far with capitalism tbf

I had a patient tell me that she doesn't let her child talk to other white people because "they might be mean", she also said her daughter couldn't be friends with anyone unless the mother fully interrogated them about where they stand politically/lgtb. Her kid is 7.... that is insane

I don’t agree that socialism works either for efficient output tbh.
