Now before you s*** on me… there are many reputable articles about mental health issues tied to marijuana use. I was diagnosed BP1.. and I started thinking hmmm.. all my episodes have been caused by heavy edibles and smoking… and even adderall. I was prescribed medication and I stopped taking them after a year. I am 2 years sober now clean of any weed… and I feel amazing and no episodes so far. Keeping healthy, taking vitamins and working out, leaving toxic friends really makes a difference. Marijuana really made me bipolar for a while. Thank God it’s over
I’ve only really had 3 episodes and all 3 have ruined my life. I’ve had to restart from 0 all 3 times but man every single episodes was triggered by insane amounts of marijuana

d**** like marijuana or psychedelic mushrooms, LSD, etc can activate latent genes in your DNA that already existed but were dormant.
I don't think they were the only cause of a manic or depressive episode if you truly experience(d) Bipolar disorder.
glad you are feeling better right now though, it's good that you are aware of your triggers.
Studies have shown that weed can raise the risk of experiencing mood disorder symptoms. However, there is a difference between correlation and causation; at this time, there is nothing to suggest that smoking weed causes people to become bipolar.

It definitely was a major part of the trigger, is say stress was also a cause. But it baffles me how I meet people with bp disorder and they smoke marijuana… I’m clean 2 years now after daily 6 years of use and it’s completely changed how I think and my mental health is better than ever… worst d*** ever

That's why I'm not a big fan of weed. Compared to other d****, my reactions to it are inconsistent. I've been very happy and relaxed on it and I've been out of my mind with anxiety on it. Depends on my mood, what I'm doing, who I'm with, etc.

well its your choice to get high when you’re feeling low you could smoke when you know you’ll enjoy it tho
I smoke weed and the only thing that happened to me that is that I turned gay and hear voices when it's really dark and I'm indoors
Otherwise I'm fine @op, you'll be good. I didn't realize the joys of prostate stimulation until I became a power bottom from hitting the bong
It known to induce manic episodes and worsen symptoms. Im in the same situation and it’s why I quit this year after 10 years of heavy use. If you’re bipolar is safest to stay away from d**** unless a doctor recommends it (like ketamine treatment or something) and look into medication that can protect your brain from mania killing neurons.

Weed is not entirely benign. It should be researched more intensively
It's schedule 1
