Generally speaking, whenever there is an outbreak of civil unrest, motives and goals of those involved can very greatly.

We saw this last summer with the Floyd riots. Many involved wanted specific reforms, others wanted more radical changes. Very few were even calling for a wholesale transformation of the American policing system, let alone the overthrow of its socioeconomic order.

If we take another famous protest, the Chinese student protests of 1989 that resulted in the deaths near the Tiananmen Square, one can observe that there were even Maoists and other assorted communists protesting against the situation, even alongside pro-capitalist protestors.

The same is true of protest movements in other socialist countries like Cuba, where the people involved may have a plethora of different, even incompatible grievances, demands, and understandings of the situation.

This is still the case even in a colour revolution, since while a particular opposition group or NGO may be a glow op, the ordinary people who fall under its influence may do so with any number of motivations and desires, not all of which will include the wholesale toppling of the regime.

Therefore, it is wrong for OP to call this anti-communist, let alone anti-government. It has been established of course that he is a lying f***.

I too should not use the word anti-government. I did it earlier but this isn't even the right word. The protests were initially about vaccines and then about the lack of some food items (both caused or at the very least heightened by the 70 year US embargo). Those who want the government gone are a small minority of the protestors, and those who want socialism gone are an even smaller proportion.

Instead, this perception mainly comes from the pro-Batista crowd in Miami whose descendants were exiled from the island for being part of the white bourgeois and slaveowner classes and the US-friendly media enabling them.

To claim that the president of Cuba calls for violence against them is a severe misinterpretation. He even said in the same speech that some honest protestors are being manipulated unknowingly due to the fact of how they are being portrayed in foreign media.

First death has befallen the protests.

The interior ministry said on Tuesday that it “mourns the death” of a 36-year-old man named as Diubis Laurencio Tejeda, who the state news agency said had taken part in the “disturbances”.
