Thats all I can think about as well. China seems like they're moving smart in the Middle East and they didn't take the West's bait on Xinjiang (which borders Afghanistan and imminent Taliban territory and could destabilize a massive Belt and Road zone if handled wrong) so they've lost that influence to China or never really had it

Biden needs something to secure something in exchange so he's going for the old U.S playbook. Sent Harris to get Latin America in line, and now looking right at the Caribbean

Didn't seem them being this blatant about it tho.

It didn't work out in Bolivia when they exiled Evo, now the leftists are in power again

Lula in Brazil might win the election despite having been in jail after being ousted by the pro-USA right

It remains to be seen if it works out in Peru after the leftist won there (the rightist claims there was voter manipulation).

Haiti was already theirs to begin with, now just with different leadership.

Cuba probably won't work either to be honest, they are so many videos of pro-government protestors going around. Americans underestimate how deep the support really goes.

It doesn't matter what Americans think, what matters is the situation on the ground there

This is not CIA propaganda BTW, it’s a common fact in the spanish-speaking circles on the left

He didn’t get into Marxism until he met Che, and he still had an affinity for the Falangist movement

I can already see certain posters saying that this is being orchestrated by CIA or whatever

it’s on wax that the US govt has in the past and has continued in recent times to materially support dissident movements in the country so it’s not like it’s some far fetched conspiracy lol

There's probably more Italian-Americans in New Jersey celebrating over the Euro 2021 win than there are anti-government protestors in Cuba right now

This was clearly some s***ty attempt at sparking a color revolution and the turnout is low for something that was likely paid for and planned a year in advance

This isnt a protest against communism nor is it a "CIA coup" lol.

Cubans, like any people in the world, are protesting against increased poverty and demanding government change.

MFs really are a bunch of a******s, regardless if you are using this protest as a way to s*** on "communism" or if you are supporting the obvious policing the Cuban government is doing to suppress the protests.

This will end up like the Hong Kong protests: CIA s*** going absolutely nowhere

    Quote me in 1 year

dont disagree with anything you said itt, but im curious in the abstract

what would it take in your eyes for a protest in a communist country to seem legit. do you think its purely a question of how the media is framing it

like what if a country implements certain policies and its (actually) disastrous, but MSM and twitter libs are also reporting on it

Not only MASS protests (not this one - there are only a few videos with at most a few hundred people, nothing that didnt happen during the George Floyd protests), but also military going against the government and/or leadership openly talking about ending socialism

Mass protests alone have never changed an entire governmental system, I can't think of any single prominent example for this. You need some of the people with power to go along with you OR need a violent revolution to do so (with the support of significant parts of the military)

I don't see this happening in Cuba, nor would it happen in Hong Kong. They're still trying though. Last year they tried this too, maybe it was the test run (fake student protests) for this year.

Of course, they can try a coup like in Grenada if they feel desperate and invade. But I'm not sure if they want to invade because Cuba has prepared for decades for a guerilla war. They tried sending special ops to Venezuela a while ago and they all got captured

Right wing twitter making this seem like the root of all problems in Cuba is communism, like if the country was capitalist living under the same conditions its been living for all these years, s*** would be different
