It’s not about rapping about those specific topics or being the hip hop equivalent of MSNBC, it’s about the energy. Larry June dropped one of my favorite hip hop albums this year and in it he speaks about how you can do anything with a solid plan, how a lot can change if you lock in for 60 days, getting an LLC and putting ya niggas on and in this current climate, that’s 100x more relevant and useful then niggas gargling through YouTube insert producer here type beats about popping a perc and f***ing a b**** wit the blicky on ya side while ya op bleeds to death underneath the mattress or whatever the f*** these niggas talking about now. S*** deadass horrorcore at this point.
does he talk about his baby mama

stupid ass threads like this resulting in niggas writing dissertations
you are doing these artists 0 favors bruh

The real shame is that d***ged out ‘fun’ rap already peaked a decade ago. It had barely innovated. Sounded much more authentic too, instead being part of an aesthetic
Genuinely trying to listen to Larry June and he’s talking about browsing his email

ill give op credit for putting chow lee though since he actually does make fun music & deserves more looks
hard to listen to most of these guys when the originator is dropping classics rn sorry op
I get it.
But i also get that this is what the mainstream labels and/or algorithm will try and push to distract young people from the fact society is falling apart.
