Eh, everyone runs to listen when Drake drops, that makes it an event imo.The albums have just been bad lately.
Kanye had the last 2 big events in Hip Hop, then went fully crazy. And the verzuz happened because of the beef during those album releases.

NBA Youngboy, Moneybagg Yo, and Lil Durk running a genre is not gonna spawn any evolution or reaching the wider audience outside of local hoods.

His Albums are always eventful, always, entertaining, always have at least a handful of elite rap tracks, and of course always have hits that resonate with the culture and have a lot of staying power
