Losing X and Juice lowkey more impactful than PAC and Big dying.

At least they still had Jay and then Em and DMX popped up. And Outkast and Lauryn Hill was still pushing things forward.

X and Juice dying (and Peep to lesser extent) literally killed a whole new sound from developing

Edit: in terms of pushing the culture forward. PAC and Big died and gangsta/bling bling rap still kept flourishing for another 5-7 years.

X and Juice died and Uzi falling off literally killed the emo/rage/SoundCloud era

When are yall realize that you can praise your fav rappers without disrespecting the dead?

How am I disrespecting the dead?

I stated clearly why I think their deaths were more impactful

If you disagree that’s cool and understandable but I stand by what I said

Nobody ever called any of those 3 the new big 3. The closest was X, and wasnt he almost guaranteed to go to prison for some s*** he had done anyway

Yall gotta stop making these threads

They didn’t have time to be labeled as such.

By 2020 if all X and Juice were alive I feel like ppl would be saying they gonna be the ones for the 2020s.

    Uzi
    X
    Juice

These 3 were gonna be the leaders musically, aesthetically, and culturally for they’re generation just like Drake Kendrick and Cole.

X and Juice dying really f***ed up the game.

And I feel like they’re lack of energy negatively affected Uzi’s artistry cuz he hasn’t touched LIR2 since.

Lil Peep dying plays a part too, say what you want but that emo/rage SoundCloud era was different unique and spoke to a generation just like the blog era spoke to mine

Current era we in has no direction, no narrative. Everyone just putting out projects and songs just cuz

Carti lowkey the only one keeping things interesting.

Culture would’ve been in such a fascinating space with X Uzi Juice Peep and Carti leading the way.

    Doja Cat still alive tf?

    Uzi is alive lol

X potentially could have, though if was going to get locked up that'd have killed that for a few years at the least.

Juice was popular, but the whole plane situation still would've gotten him locked up for years.

They had potential to possibly become that sure, but they also had a lot going on that would've put ever becoming that in jeopardy.

The whole "what if" s*** people do with dead artists just reads like fanfiction and there's still plenty of people making music that are creative, perhaps you just aren't aware of them.

If the entirety of modern hip hop is stagnant because of two people, there are other problems involved

But seriously though X, Peep, and Juice were going to be absolutely massive. Three of the biggest stars gone a short period like that.

There was absolutely no ceiling for those three. Now we're still stuck in this boomer wave where people are still bumping Cole, Drake, Kendrick and acting like they still the biggest stars when that isn't the case whatsoever.
