But seriously though X, Peep, and Juice were going to be absolutely massive. Three of the biggest stars gone a short period like that.
There was absolutely no ceiling for those three. Now we're still stuck in this boomer wave where people are still bumping Cole, Drake, Kendrick and acting like they still the biggest stars when that isn't the case whatsoever.
Doesn’t help that Travis momentum got cut short too
Jadakiss really was right. Dead rappers really get better promotion.
To add on to this, It's funny because by admission of most X fans, all of his albums were trash compared to his soundcloud s*** so technically speaking he was already "falling off" musically while he was getting on
RIP Pop Smoke too
Would have been bigger than any of the three in op, no offense to them

To be fair Travis peaked with Rodeo anyway, Astro was alright but idk why it got the hype it did.

Yeah his Soundcloud s*** was better than any of his albums but he needed a better image for his court cases.
Juice was really supposed to be the biggest rapper rn I believe it he was so talented and just his leaks are better than a lot of careers rn I hope he's smiling at heaven

17 is really good better than the soundcloud stuff

The more I think about this, I don't know about that.
Pop was something new, but as far as his music/rapping, he was kind of a one trick pony. Especially when you realize he reused lyrics a LOT of time.
Think he would've grew stagnant with the audience over time as well.

I'm just saying that is a very hot take lol.

Idk man local radio still plays what you know bout love like once an hour
Idk man local radio still plays what you know bout love like once an hour
and local radio still plays bop on broadway.
Niggas was still growing tired of DaBaby around red light green light/pre-rolling loud too
Rappers can have hits that bang and audience can still grow tired of them.
Juice WRLD imo was the only one that had the IT factor. Could sing and could also f***ing rap his ass off.
Bro PAC’s death impacted in the form of literally every black male artist from 1998-2003/4 being required to be hyper masculine and sexual in some overt way in order to be huge - and not just rap, I do mean every black male artist
And even further, rappers like DMX/Ja/Em/50 are examples of PAC’s direct influence
King von would’ve been king of the Chicago s*** even surpassing Durk. Would’ve been locked up for those pre-fame crimes tho. Probably called the hit on FBG too

So he wouldn't have been king of Chicago then lol

Yup when Pop was alive the conversation was “will he be here next year if he doesnt change up the sound”…especially with Dior being included on both of his tapes back to back
An artists dying sucks because we left with fans that the numbers the pushed posthumously reflect what they would have done alive

That was the misinterpretation of PAC too. He wasn’t hyper masculine until the end of this career. His real impact is the changes and keep your head up style that hasn’t been replicated.
Kanye and Kendrick closest to that sorta depth and impact musically. Maybe DMX too. He had the same vulnerability as PAC
So he wouldn't have been king of Chicago then lol
When I say King I mean more like the most talked about Chicago artist.

Pop was more versatile then Dababy tho, he also had an insane mainstream appeal, Shoot for the stars showed exactly that
