Thread was doomed as soon as it started tbh

If you're siding with T.I. in terms of medical advice, indeed you are doomed.

You're discounting the amount of resources that have been dedicated to the development of this vaccine compared to others as well as the increased global infection rate allowing for quicker large-scale testing.

It was definitely developed at a quicker pace than under normal circumstances but that by no means equals "rushed"

    Money, its all money.

if we put money on big titty goth robot AIs, we could have it. ALAS, we dont.

im certainly not discounting them, im sure they’re very dedicated and hard working and are doing all they can with it.
it’s just unusual for a vaccine to be developed and released so quickly, no matter the circumstances, but i really do hope that you’re right.

You should account for the progression of science and technology from when previous vaccines have come out

vaccines aren’t bad, rushed ones are risky tho imo

I don’t get it we literally do not know the long term effects of this vaccine how have these been signed off on?

How do we know we don’t do this today and all develop cancer in 10 years?

It's obvious this dude doesn't care and just wants to be able to tell black people what to do regardless of their historically justified feelings of skepticism due to years of mistreatment in medicine.

Which to answer his stupid ass question, does include vaccines. However, it does not mean that the majority of black people are outright refusing to take the vaccination

is because people are too f***ing stupid to wear masks and practice social distancing, so the only way to save thousands of lives each day is to invest billions of dollars into a vaccine to come as fast as it can

A “wait and see” approach is warranted but people of this age demographic on KTT will most likely be the last in line to receive it. I haven’t been able to spend time with my grandparents or give them a hug in almost over a year. For people like them it can be a game changer so I’m going to remain optimistic. The microchip people you got me lost on that s*** tho

It's the infection rate. In order for a vaccine to be proven effective enough of the participants in the placebo group have to contract whatever virus you're trying to cure so you can compare it to the group that received the vaccine.

When you're trying to cure a virus that isn't causing a global pandemic this takes a very long time because people honestly don't get sick that much. Look at something like HIV where only 0.01% of the US population contracts it a year. If 0% of your vaccine test group and 0.01% of your placebo group gets it then that honestly tells you nothing of significance.
