Bruh...I guarantee you way more people are going to take the vaccine than those who aren't. We're just going to have people not taking it as soon as it's available as they're in the "wait and see" crowd. That wait and see period for most people is probably going to be 3-6 weeks.

You can check all these numbers and they far outweigh those who are straight up not taking it and/or only taking it if their work requires them to do so.

The way I see it, the overwhelming majority is taking the vaccination in general. The s*** is getting eradicated. If it doesn't get eradicated I guarantee that'll be more as a result of the vaccination straight up failing more than it would be a small minority of people in comparison not taking it.

"You can check all these numbers and they far outweigh those who are straight up not taking it and/or only taking it if their work requires them to do so."

62% is nowhere near close the 80% threshold that has been circulating.

Niggas giving guarantees on absolute fiction. I can't

but hopefully the (albeit justified) mistrust of vaccines in communities of color doesn't result in rampant covid breakouts within those areas though, that's my fear

once the dust settles and most of the vaccines have been dispersed as you said, i could see that happening. someone was just telling me recently that this occurs with certain diseases due to limited access to healthcare in specific places (mostly black populations) that just causes constant breakouts

Medical racism doesn’t necessarily pertain to the medicine itself, but how the doctors utilize it. Look into the death rate of black woman in labour compare to white. It’s the same medicine, but the doctors treat black woman differently (which leads to their deaths).

    oh gotcha, didnt know that

hesitation to take a vax due to the Tuskegee experiment is understandable but black people aren’t the only group thats taking it

fam niggas aren’t only pointing to tuskegee, there’s a deeper story to it

this is a global s*** bruh. If you dont want to take the vaccine, then dont f***ing take it. Its your right.

I'm aint decided yet because there's another side to the argument that it's an obligation to the community to help build herd immunity which is logical and completely reasonable if it could be possible but the problem is trusting the vaccine that comes from an untrustworthy people. We're in a tough place and the government has done so much bad s*** things why trust them now?

I saw a mailman making a tik tok too. Is the government making them dance to appeal to black people to use the USPS so they can steal and track information?

Probably not but I hope you get some Likes for this one

that’s tap dancing on broken glass, in a racial context, telling someone they’re overreacting to something so serious is not the role of anybody not belonging to that group

again, you probably shouldnt tell how a person should feel to a certain situation, but you're allowed to tell them when they're wrong about a particular situation, regardless of your race

Okay but making a tik tok = attempting to appeal to black people so they'll take a vaccine is an insane-level reach in 2020. And might be racist in and of itself

If people in those communities don't get vaccinations I feel that would more due to its lack of availability in those communities than anything. As they normally get the s*** end of the stick and tossed aside. Which is a reality I don't think many consider.

    the vaccine was not rushed

they built on existing data we had from the SARS outbreak in 02, since they are in the same family

they are certainly rushing its release to the public. it doesn’t take just eight months to research, develop and successfully test a vaccine (even if the decade old SARS vaccine was used as it’s template) for a new strain of that virus.

the testing process for vaccines generally takes years before it is verified safe for public use.
im a little skeptical but if it turns out to be safe and actually works to a degree i will gladly acknowledge it as a huge breakthrough.

You're discounting the amount of resources that have been dedicated to the development of this vaccine compared to others as well as the increased global infection rate allowing for quicker large-scale testing.

It was definitely developed at a quicker pace than under normal circumstances but that by no means equals "rushed"
