I was always confused by the description of shoplifters:
“On the margins of Tokyo, a dysfunctional band of outsiders is united by fierce loyalty and a penchant for petty theft. When the young son is arrested, secrets are exposed that upend their tenuous, below-the-radar existence.”
Doesn’t the son get arrested near the end of the film? I remember the descriptions I read made it sound like that was the catalyst of the film.

yeah it’s a weird synopsis, it should be focusing on them taking in the little girl instead of the arrest
people itt need to watch his debut “maborosi”
one of the saddest movies i’ve ever seen, lingers with you long after watching it

I ordered the HD version from the UK about a month ago. I still have to buy an all region blu-ray player to play it since it doesn't work with U.S bluray. still think it was worth it since I couldn't find any version other than SD in America. the difference in quality seems pretty huge.
I've also never seen Nobody Knows in HD only SD, although I know HD exists because i've seen clips of it in HD. would very much like to see it again in better quality.
"Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Broker has been sold to 171 countries ahead of its premiere in Competition at Cannes, according to Korean sales agent CJ ENM...
...CJ says the “overwhelming” sales results are on par with those of Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite and Snowpiercer as well as Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden."
