Got tired of waiting for the version with official subs to leak or pop up on streaming so I rented it today and I’m really glad I did. This was my first Kore-eda movie and I loved it. The performances were grounded, yet powerful, the serene score elevated it to another level, and the cinematography was f***ing stunning. So many frames that looked drop dead gorgeous
