carti is a good ass artist so that won't be hard to for him. hopefully the next will be worth the praise

Yea if wlr was done in a matter of a few months

His next joint will be the one actually deserving of the d***riding seeing how much time he’s taking with it

Nothing else out there sounds like WLR and none of the clones have been able to even get close. It’s the real 808s of the 2020s.

y'all are exaggerating the influence so much lol

You’re underselling it if anything. Once Yeat ran with the rage style after WLR came out he completely blew up, he was basically birthed off that sound. No one cares about his pre-WLR music at all. He might’ve been the biggest rapper of last year off discussion and word of mouth alone and that’s just one

    notbrock

Gonna be the most overrated album this decade

  • Feb 12, 2023

it’s a data dump of the same sound, good album tho def overhated on release night and have to commend the influence . it’s nothing more than that

  • Feb 12, 2023

Don't care if this is a pretentious take but Twitter niggas opinions really honest and in whole do not matter. Goddamn Reddit niggas got more credibility. S*** I've seen better rap takes on the cartoons board on 4chan.

nah lol ur living in ur own bubble

Love to get direct evidence and dismiss it

  • Feb 12, 2023

I love it now. Teen X is my favorite by far, followed by Punk Monk

  • Feb 12, 2023

It's an iconic and a classic album. Sure, i think it could've been trimmed down a little, but classics can have skips

  • Feb 12, 2023

Also if you’re over 30 you obviously will not have the same perspective on this s*** lmao

  • Feb 12, 2023

First listen thought it was mid, few more listens in I realized the sound was going to be copied so hard. I think most of my fav albums OAT never clicked w me on first listen tbh

I'd say its overrated but niggas only talk about this album on the internet

Yeah it is overrated by the internet but the public didn’t fall for the “I’m a vampire, I dressed up so my album is innovative!” Act

    Miss the Rage…

    Ok let’s try this again

Post one that doesn’t include the only popular artists who do that sound…

If the sound was consistent and full of just New Tank, Rockstar Made, Stop Breathing, and On That Times I’d understand the hype

But bro felt like mixing in a bunch of Eternal Atake type beats in there for some odd reason in what is supposed to be a hardcore album

Real for pointing out the inconsistency, he didn’t commit to the sound and aesthetic at all. Idk why he had some of those bubble gum beats on there that could’ve been on any SoundCloud rap album 2 years prior

All the songs on 808s fit one vision

    Can’t say that about WLR

  • Feb 12, 2023

One of my favorite first listening sessions

I was so hype when that s*** drop, def exceeded my expectations

Wasn’t expecting that at all I was deadass in shock

Been watching Carti develop for awhile. I was always a fan but damn he took his sound to a whole new level

Already knew that s*** was gonna make noise. Niggas hopped on the wave like right after the album dropped lol

    Instant classic imo 🤷🏾‍♂️

    mr get dough

I knew it was a classic after my first listen

Best album this decade so far

Didn’t even see this post lol

    🎯

  • Feb 12, 2023

Album is pretty trash besides a couple tracks

Can’t even call it mid cause it’s not, it’s just bad

    Let’s talk about it 🗣

People get off on trying to deny influence for this kind of s*** like they’re somehow more in the know or something. Like it’s basically objective at this point Whether you love the album or not it is what it is, the influence is thorough. And for a huge mainstream artist to completely pivot their sound and surprise everyone and it still have this big of an impact 2 years later? Yeah it’s crazy and worth talking about

  • Feb 12, 2023

Terrible when it dropped, terrible now, and the wave of albums it’s inspired are also trash

Yea no point in entertaining those type of debates. Carti already had mad influence over the underground

Few niggas started careers with his style and it’s been like that with every project bc he always switching it up

    WLR was no different

I keep asking what exactly it’s influenced? Y’all just keep repeating it’s influenced so much but can’t show me anything at all

It influenced Yeat and he’s the only popular person with wlr influence

Other than that it’s just a bunch of unknown carti clones that only get play from Carti stans

OP keep saying it’s changing the whole game but can’t point out a single song from a big hip hop album that has wlr influence
