its ok all it had was spotify let ppl listen to it for free, promotion from every major brand (including sport teams) & every/any cosign from almost celebrity in the industry.
Damn was released in 2017. Streaming is much bigger now.
streaming has actually been down the last 2 years

The cope
He’ll do both
I know you're probably trolling but it'll take a massive hit or promotion for Kendrick to reach that.
At this point, Kanye even past his prime has damn near as much buzz as Kendrick and he only did a little more than 300K fw.
But, if Kendrick could pull it off, kudos to him. I'm only concerned with the quality of his album though.
The cope
i’m not even mad at it. i just feel like
the average fan doesn’t take that to account.

With all that free publicity, boy couldn't even hit 750k, let alone a million,
it was literally a single that ended up being left off the album
he announced the album date at the end of the video and was wearing CLB merch throughout it
and it’s not like singles counted for first week sales on the previous albums anyway
therefore the effect is the same
One single vs views having hot bling, one dance, feature on work and the meek beef. Scorpion having 2 number 1 smash hits. Those did have an effect on the albums. Those hits brought in a lot of white soccer moms and casuals. Only his core audience knew about this.
If HDD saying 604k it’s def under 600k for billboard. They tend to overestimate

He gonna lose about 240k pure sales tho

It's not like Drake needed the co-signs or promotion from brands, his own brand is bigger than most of those who had a bit of fun with the cover. And all the memes with the cover were organic, it's not like he paid for it. The thing about Spotify is a valid point, but still. Almost 700m audio streams is absolutely insane

depends on if he has physicals or not. i think kendrick can sell 100k+ pure with CDs and vinyls but if it's just digital sales he's topping out at like 50k.
