Most of us arguing against homophobia been listening to hip hop for decades, I hate that y’all don’t understand the concept of growing up.
It has nothing to do with “growin up” unless you’re talkin bout it from a consumer standpoint
"These" niggas being the GROUPIE niggas.
They being obtuse as hell just to have something to get mad at ctfu

We’re talking about it from the standpoint that more voices need to be allowed in hip hop and that the homophobia from its peers create a wall that blocks many talented queer artists from getting they foot in the door or even worse. Has to stay in the closet for years before they can even get the grace period to come out.
Also, yeah. Pause/homophobic lyrics sound A LOT more cringe from a nigga thats in his mid 30s or damn near 40.
Like @KIN said, hip hop gotta make intelligence/reading cool again.
Lol this pause discussion is hilarious to me
The same site that spams the
smiley to meme anything remotely homoerotic is conveniently denying that the term pause is the same thing as saying no h***

That entire first paragraph is true but homophobia isnt a rap problem or something to simply just ‘move on’ from. Rap has its roots firmly in the streets, poor black areas where the competition for resources in part leads to hyper masculine traits floating to the top and being idolized.
Homosexuality is seen as a contradiction to hyper masculinity and even normal masculinity. Even when rap niggas were big into reading and NOI s*** gay s*** was a no go.
Its not cool to be homophobic anymore and rap has made great strides in lgbt representation 🤷🏿♂️ but its def not going to disappear anymore than misogyny will
Rappers be talking bout killing people, selling hard d**** and doing wild s*** and you expect them to be role models for progressiveness? This is where you draw the line, not the shooting or other s***? C'mon man
A lot of people got a problem where they want rappers rapping real s*** but want them to be morally righteous on select issues lol
A lot of people got a problem where they want rappers rapping real s*** but want them to be morally righteous on select issues lol
People don’t care unless it effects them.
Just like people hate it when rappers talk socially conscious s*** about inequality and racism but are fine with black men rapping about killing other black men and disrespecting black women
A lot of people got a problem where they want rappers rapping real s*** but want them to be morally righteous on select issues lol
It's not even real s***, they want rappers to be these cartoonishly level of super thugged out dudes, almost caricacatures of what they think a hood black guy is supposed to be, and then they expect that person to have great political insight and agree with them on progressive issues. It's wild. These ones who do say things closer to what they believe, they be thinking is corny.
That dave chappelle joke still valid to this day
ngl I always interpreted the lyrics as being a joke about people being on his d***
definitely pretty borderline though even if that’s the intention
being homophobic is weird anyways, imagine being concerned about what another man does in the bedroom
Kinda gay ngl
Also my lil bro gay and he been had this song on repeat in 2020 and always screamed out "cuz niggas is gay"
If gay niggas dont care then why should straight ppl
And this might be an unpopular opinion but ppl have a right to be homophobic. Homophobia isnt necessarily hatred, its just a phobia of homosexuallity. Pretty much meaning that gay s*** gives you the heeby jeebiez or creeps you out, which, if your not sexually interested in d***s or male buttholes, is understandable.
I dont hate gay people nor am i homophobic. I just think there are a lot of people who are "homophobic" but dont HATE gay people.
Who still says “pause” in 2021? Why do you feel the need to clarify that you’re straight, to people who most likely already know that you’re straight?
Why don’t you carry a sign that says HOMOPHOBE?
Also, these are lyrics from one of the most popular songs of last year
“I CANT F*** WITH THESE ** COS ** IS GAY! ALL ON MY PAGE, SUCKING D***, while I’m in the club”
If saying I don’t f*** with them BECAUSE they’re Gay left any room for interpretation he clarifies that yes, he doesn’t like the men on his page trying to SUCK HIS D***. He didn’t say “I can’t f*** with these ** cos ** just hate, all on my page, talking s***” would’ve fit the same, but no he had to say he don’t f*** with them gays and the s*** popped off
The genre isn't for you, keep it pushing or listen to rappers that aren't against gay people. Simple.
You don't need to be white to not want to hear homophobic themes in your favorite genre
That's thing though, homophobia has always been tied to the genre. Because these people don't care about being homophobic and that music simply isn't for you if you're offended plain and simple. Most of these songs get hot in the streets and get mainstream from there. People are talking about killing each other, killing people's mamas, grandmas, etc. The last thing they care about is homophobia.
