Tbh. I don’t think she was a real strong album artist until the 2010s tho. Crazy how her bestt album came this year . Listening to it on vinyl rn
Sasha Fierce tho
What's the hate on sasha fierce. Straight bangers top to bottom

I think it's because it feels like a compilation of hits instead of an album. If that makes any sense.

Great thread @op ur first hit
not a hot take, her discog is flawless
this site despises her though so expect the trolling and corniess to proceed on
“ this site despises her though” - will we ever unpack this? There’s a certain type of vitriol that she receives that even other black artists like Rih, Summer, SZA, Ari etc don’t get.
Sasha fierce has some of her biggest hits though.
Sweet Dreams
If I were a boy

Yeah she’s the ultimate symbol of unabashed black femininity, and this site’s userbase is made of an average of uptight young nerdy dudes. It’s not a coincidence that the woman artists ktt agrees on kinda downplay their femininity in how they present themselves, or appeal to the “she’s one of the good ones” idea dudes can have towards woman artists. Beyonce is the complete antithesis of all that, and is the biggest antithesis
It’s kinda echoed in her reviews getting better the further her music leaned away from being this bright and bombastic display of womanhood, and in her persona being more hated the more outspoken she got

As you said, she represents something in an almost superheroine way that undermines the male dominated ecosystem of western pop culture. She has a legacy of 'perfection' hence all the 'what would Beyonce do' 'you have as many hours in a day as Beyonce' where as even someone as Loved and adored as Rihanna isn't reverenced on that level because she's perceived to be more grounded/accessible. Beyonce's star is just bright as hell and unless you have been following her journey from the beginning of 25+ years, you just won't get it.. frustrating you because you don't see what everyone else sees.
There will always be ppl wanting to dim that supernova a few pegs. It comes in the form of microaggressions that you see in a lotta her threads. You see it most on male dominated forums i.e- KTT2, Reddit, Boxden.. ther was another one back in the day: Killermovies, comicvine, thecoli etc

Halo is probably her best song
I love @op but we can admit that Sasha Fierce was definitely a miss.
