    I don't see it

If anything they are vaguely influenced by Dilla Madlib DOOM Earl

Artists from the last 2 decades..

    This makes more sense

    Drake #1 let’s be serious.

in retrospect, 2020 will be remembered as a relatively quiet year for Drake considering how prolific his output normally is

similar to how 2017 was an off-album-cycle year for him where he dropped a mixtape in preparation for an upcoming album the next year, 21' could def be like '18 all over again in terms of full year dominance

Do you know what subjective means

popularity is quantifiable to some degree

i was asking for people to be as objective as they can in ranking the hottest artists of the year in accordance to measurable criteria such as sales

Honestly MTV needs to start doing this again. Used to love watching those specials. Just make it a podcast or throw that s*** on YouTube or whatever.

Then your list is straight up bad tbh, Wayne and Sean?? Tacky.

Go ahead and listen to Nas, Blu, Cudi, Griselda, Boldy, Navy Blue, Ka, Roc Marci, s*** even Busta had a better album than most ppl you mentioned.

Good call I missed nas and busta. Nas put out an incredible album. I enjoyed Sean tbh.

Drake. It's just the honest truth. His tour numbers say it all. The rest of them(NBA Youngboy/Lil Baby/Dababy/Roddy Ricch/ETC) cannot even sell out a stadium. I won't even put Post Malone categorize has a rapper, he even sells out more than all of them except Drake.

    7. MoneyBagg
    8. Lil Durk
    9. Nas

In the spirit of MTV's now-discontinued "Hottest MC's in the Game" year-end list, I ask the members of our community to rank the "hottest", or most popular rappers of 2020 from #1-10. Note that this is not a subjective ranking of your personal favorites. Instead, the selections should be based more on quantifiable criteria such as commercial success, cultural impact, relevance, year-long consistency etc.

    Vote Here: https://www.surveylab.com/pageTag/SurveyCampaign/cId/4ed756402e1327bf579414fbb41bae354ed8e1143c/

    My top 10:
    1. Lil Baby
    2. Megan Thee Stallion
    3. DaBaby
    4. Pop Smoke
    5. Roddy Ricch
    6. Drake
    7. Lil Uzi Vert
    8. Lil Durk
    9. NBA YoungBoy
    10. Benny the Butcher

    Honorable Mentions:
Polo G, Rod Wave, Jack Harlow, Cardi B, Freddie Gibbs, Future, Travis Scott, Gunna, King Von, Mulatto, Moneybagg Yo, Tory Lanez, King Von, Playboi Carti, Don Tolliver, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Fivio Foreign, Nas, JT (City Girls), Juice WRLD

Big Sean is hotter than half of this list

But I ain’t mad at this list it’s solid af

    Drake #1 let’s be serious.

No way was drake hotter than Lil Baby this year, hell nah

I will say though that if Drake can have this kind of year off cycle (mixtape, chart topping singles, features) it speaks volumes to how relevant he still is

Like rappers would kill to have a popstar or a toosie slide

    In some order

    Drake
    lil baby
    lil durk
    NBA
    Meg
    Big Sean
    Future

Are 7 of the top 10

Then IMO You can go Uzi, Pop Smoke, and someone else for 10

No one got Sean on they list but a lot of these niggas dropped and they didn’t do 100k first week or go #1

That would require mtv pivoting from being mom tv back to music tv. I doubt it

I’d go crazy if mtv dropped all this Teen mom s*** and went back to their roots and even thru in some 2000-early 2010s classics like Cribs, And those funny as dating shows Next and Parental Control.

    Those were the days

as an honorable mention, sure, but def not top 10

same logic goes for omitting 21 Savage; relatively quiet year when it comes to guest appearances and overall visibility, and an album with little to no staying power or individual song success
