Exactly so why do ppl pretend that he’s the epitome of great music (like prince/MJ/Stevie) when he gets s***ted on (the past 10 years atleast) at almost every turn. he’s respected because of his longevity but the ppl acting like he’s seen in this grandiose light by the GP is reaching.. even rappers of today don’t hold him to high esteem. U can’t be overrated if the majority of ppl don’t see u as the best to begin with. Drake, Wayne and Kanye are out on a WAYY higher pedestal and ppl use undermine Jay’s music to prop up whoever they feel doesn’t receive the same amount of attention/love

You don’t gotta run hip hop to be considered one of the goats lol. Hov been putting out quality music since before some of y’all were born. That alone put him in the conversation. Most rappers don’t perform at the level Hov has for as long as he has. Man is one of the greatest ever and it’s not debatable.

That’s two or three ppl for every 100 or 200 ppl saying he isn’t all that.. we literally seen it these past few weeks. How is that overrated?! Hove is s***ted on for the most part farrr more than anyone else that has debut with or after him in his bracket. Jus because a minority of ppl hold him in high regard (which is normal for MOST Stans) he’s seen as overrated? It is a fact that most of Generation Z or millennials f*** with JAY like that.. they easily prefer, pac, biggie, Wayne, Nas, Kanye and Drake along with Em.
