yes, it is expensive to see the biggest artists in the world live. that’s nothing new
society is crumbling and artists / corporations are trying to cash out, didnt you get the memo bro
2024 election / societal collapse coming soon!
Just bought another case of ammo, we good on this side
Stadium tours with high production value take insane amounts of behind the scenes work.
Taylor's tour had hundreds of workers and dozens of semi trucks basically working 24/7 during this tour run. You also have to consider the amount that is going to Ticketmaster, as well as the insane paycheck the main artist is getting.
Transit and production costs are super high right now, and outside of a few exceptions concert ticket prices haven't gone up as much as everything else. You can still see touring artists in a 2k capacity venue for ~25 bucks, which is cheap considering the price of everything else
i think its a combination of different reasons. one of them is that apparently people are willing to pay higher in the post-covid climate for big artists they havent seen in a while/havent toured in a while like Taylor Swift or Beyonce. plus just general inflation ofc and the ridiculous fees. and the fact that touring in general is less profitable for artists now so they have to make a bit more money anyway across the board of popularity
I think trying to get resale tickets for one of those huge sales is an L, best way is to try to get the presale things they do now and just try to get as lucky as you can. I got good Taylor Swift stadium tickets for like < $200. and a few other arena-medium size shows for around $100-200
going to smaller shows of artists you really like for like $25-50 is the best tbh
I’m buying a mandarin tree this wknd I think
Ya they’re just out of season that price still makes me genuflect in the fresh produce aisle a bit tho
Awesome my dream is a sustainable farm but in another country.
also i think some people dont understand the whole resale thing, like they'll see something like a specific ticket being listed for $5000 resale somewhere and they be like "omg taylor swift floor tickets cost $5000 this is ridiculous!"
not that they dont have a valid point but people have to be careful not to get ripped off and think the tickets are worth more than they actually are
Do you guys think $50 is expensive for a 3-5 act lineup of artists you aren’t familiar with? I feel like thats usually what DICE’s b****ass is charging me
No perfect price

I mean no s*** but im talking about the difference between $500ish floor tickets and where we're at now

knew you would have some good insight given ur experience in this space
makes sense on transit costs too + like @rvi said im sure post covid has lifted things up + lack of recent tours for the 3 I mentioned in OP
Paying 400 is crazy for one artist tho, you could go to plenty of 3/4 day festivals for that money

fr especially for nosebleeds
let alone over 1000
IF YALL BROKE JUST SAY THAT
It's what happens when you don't hit companies like LiveNation/Ticketmaster and AEG with federal regulations and restrictions to reign in unfettered price gouging practices (and it's gotten worse with the last few years due to the pandemic and said corporations taking advantage of the pandemic-driven consumer demand that was largely present in 2021 & 2022). In comparison, they can't pull that s*** in Europe because there are actual standards in place to prevent wild exorbitant ticket pricing to transpire. Can't say the same for the States
Society isn’t sustainable rn. We’re gonna see a collapse.
I make $40 an hour and live paycheck to paycheck. I don’t even be spending like that either.

I klarna pay-in-4 all my ticketmaster tickets over $150
I get amazing seats and don't have to rush to pay. I've been able to see in-high demand acts this year like Bruce Springsteen and Peso Pluma up close
