Yes racism has been in this country forever but you cannot deny that Trump’s era gave a voice for those people to become even bolder than they were. He became the voice of a population that was bubbling during Obama’s campaign in 08. Yes those people were always around but Trump gave them a bigger platform and movement which created a divide that would also result in more young people getting into politics and choosing sides.
Trump spoke to those (MAGA) people more than for the entire country. So yes, he made it more rampant
