Kanye only uses his artists to help bring out his artistic vision for an album, after that he moves on to the next guy that inspires him.
Drake only uses his artists as producers and writers so he can crank out more hits, so purely for commercial gain. He probably takes their ideas that sound catchy and morphs them into hits or just outright sings a song they wrote.
Youtube tier take.
Kanye should just close down GOOD and make something new under the Yeezy umbrella similar to how roc nation is the spiritual successor to rocafeller
pusha filing for bankruptcy

I kind of wonder if GOOD is sort of an extension of the whole "Kanye credits everyone in the room" mindset.
He seems to really fixate on specific sounds or ideas - wouldn't be surprised if he heard Panda, decided for whatever reason he NEEDED it on TLOP and wouldn't budge so he signed Desiigner to get it and then didn't care beyond that point.
I think push found Valee tho

I think its both that and he wanted his own Rocafella.
Kanye doesn’t sign people to GOOD.... he hasn’t been the president of the company like ever

Would be a good post if anybody on OVO has had writing credits on a Drake hit in the last 5 years
y'all think every artist they sign has the ability to become a star or something lol there's plenty of very talented artists that never pop because they lack charisma, star power, persona, etc.
in turn they get a big fat check every year to help drake and kanye do their thing, sounds pretty f***ing great to me
The problem is
1. Drake and KanYe aren’t even killing anything. People forget that just because it’s your label doesn’t mean you’re the one handling the day to day s***, in fact you’re likely way to busy for that.
2. The labels are getting judged based on niggas who got signed who had NO real buzz or fan base prior and are starting from the ground up yet when they fall off or stagnate it’s the labels fault.
As much as I hate Drake, I will say this:
The reason for Ye and Drake being so successful as artists is that they are great at actively seeking out new talent and finding new directions to go in musically. This idea they "kill all talent" has more to do the fact that the artists they are working with are good for one sound but generally lack a number of things that a Ye or Drake have to continuously switch things up and have their vision inspire impactful project after impactful project like a great artist would.
Because of this, a number of these artists (PartyNextDoor, Majid Jordan, DVSN, Sheck Wes, Valee, Big Sean, etc.) do something they are capable of and just stick to their sound and carry out being that status. Some can blow up like Travis, Sean, Cudi, etc. and some just stay irrelevant like majid jordan and roy woods.
However, other artists who are extremely bitter that they contributed something to a huge artist like Ye or Drake and didn't get what they wanted back in return on their own career (Quentin Miller, Teyana Taylor, Desiigner Cudi at points, etc.) end up turning into chatty patties using "dirt" they got on those artists for attention.
With that said, Drake having his goons attack and injure Detail because Detail wouldn't solely work for him is f***ed and I find Drake's management of his artists far more controlling and disturbing than Kanye's.

This is a good response, but I don't think this addresses the fact that the labels are oftentimes a barrier to "carrying out being that status" and "sticking to their sound".
GOOD (of which I'm more familiar) has made it difficult for artists (Kacy Hill, Desiigner, Cyhi etc) to release projects and keep their fanbases interested. It's not that the label failed to promote them - it's that it seemingly stymied even their ability to maintain.
