What do you think of psychotherapy? A lot of people out there think you need it.

I think it’s bullshit. I don’t need no shrink. My music is my shrink, you know? What are you gonna do, you gonna pay a guy to sit there and listen to your problems, and dump your heart out? Let the world do that. The world is my f***in’ therapist. I tell the world my problems, and that’s it.

What would have happened if you didn’t get the chance to tell the world your problems?

I would be either still workin’ at that restaurant, Gilbert’s Lodge, or I would have gone postal at Gilbert’s Lodge.

On this album, you speak openly about being more successful because you are white.

Oh, definitely. It’s obvious to me that I sold double the records because I’m white. In my heart I truly believe I have a talent, but at the same time I’m not stupid. I know, when I first came out especially, being produced by Dre made it cool and acceptable for white kids to like me. In the suburbs, the white kids have to see black people liking you or they won’t like you. You need that foundation of legitimacy. The Beastie Boys — they had respect from the hip-hop community, and that’s what made them.

He’s 100% right and he benefited from white privilege, other big rappers would have been cancelled for Superman

    But mmlp is still amazing

Sorry bro but Stan, The Way I Am and Marshall Mathers are the only songs in MMLP that I can still take seriously in 2020. I dont care how good the rhyming, flows, beats and mixing were, the lyrics are cringe inducing.

You can’t go back to I’m back??

This album was when Em was mostly around blacks and cut back on the honky s***. Niggas wasn't letting any rape or incest jokes make their way onto that album. Em had to bite the insides of his cheeks and resist the white corniness

He was around blacks from the beggining lmao

This was just a more personal album since everything was going downhill in his life.

it's sad how he never continued the path of TES, his most serious album. MMLP and SSLP sound very good (production, flows and rhyming are top tier) but the lyrics are too immature and rely too much on shock factor. TES was a step in right direction, I dont know what the f*** happened in Encore.

He wanted to take a break cause he missed his family. Dude felt guilty everytime he left the house having lil kids.

I'm Back, Who Knew and Criminal still sound hard but I cant take those lyrics seriously anymore. MMLP was very cool when I was a teenager, but thats the problem, I'm not a teenager anymore

    Fair

But ‘I used to give a f***, now I could give a f*** less, what do I think of success, it sucks, too much stress’ still goes hard

    Jay Z agrees

It’s not enjoyable to listen to. It’s fascinating and interesting first listen especially with the video, but afterwards eh... not really a song I want to return to just to listen to it, and if I return to MMLP it always gets skipped.

he couldn't make a serious album while being with his family?? after TES brodie dropped Encore and Relapse which are even more immature than his first projects. TES was an almost perfect serious album. All his next serious albums are trash pop rap music unfortunatley

I think when he dropped Encore he wanted to quit and be home with his family. D**** were also breaking him.

Let me remind you that part of Encore was leaked before he replaced it with funny songs because of d****.

Dude tried to make two mature albums, Recovery, which everyone hates, and Revival, which people hate even more.
