He is the first and only legitimate rap rockstar, didn’t discriminate when it came to doing features, and is very likable among other things. Women wanted him, men wanted to be him. He also adapted well to frequently changing times in the genre and was usually at the forefront of (or the very reason for) said change.

And, maybe most importantly, he was and is really good at rapping.
