-Juvenile and BG leaving Cash Money then making the most of his opportunity as the label’s sole focus
-Flooding the market with features and freestyles
-Labeling himself the best rapper alive in light of Hov’s “retirement” was great marketing

he had the skills to back it all up though

  • Lil Wayne is the Greatest of All Time

  • Lil Wayne really TOP 3 and that's undebatable.

  • Why Yesterday

    Dedication pun intended

  • 25+ years in STILL ON TOP

To be fair "Lil Wayne Sucks and Here's Why..." was it's own micro-genre on YouTube at one point.

Evolved into “Drake sucks and here’s why…” genre

    Hi Roller

it was looking shaky for a min

his output mightve been shaky in some years + the legal trouble

but there is no point after 2007 that Wayne wouldn't go down as a goat or highly respected, especially by his peers.

no amount of IANAHB2's or Rebirths will change that

  • He wasn’t always loved. It was popular to hate on him when he was on top

    -Hard work
    -Technical skill
-Avoiding drama and controversy for the most part(even during the BLM comments, Wayne didn't harp over it or make it define him)
-Staying lowkey even when he's going through rough moments
-Believed in feeding his fans even when Baby was semi-blackballing him
-Massive influence over the rap game
-Bars and punchlines that are fun to dissect
    -Likeable personality
-Put on Drake and Nikki and formed an empire with them(YM)

Being himself. Didn’t give a single f*** and at the same time didn’t make his whole personality of being different.
Black man with face tattoos, who made a song saying f*** george bush, perfoming with kid rock at country music awards? Who else can do that lol.
