The concept of taking rock music (mainly guitar riffs) and mixing it with southern rap drum programming is not as unique or new as you think it is. The only thing "new" that can be argued for emo-rap is the vocal cadences and subject matter being introduced. After all, party like a rockstar came out in like 07 (not saying it's emo-rap, but it's functionally a precursor to what led to it just like rebirth) .
