Kinda had the same style from 06-18. Was rocking supreme bape tees flannels hoodies and m65 jacket black pants or raw denim with some Jordan’s or air maxes. I felt like this worked for me because that’s what I always into and I was overweight I was getting close to 270. But now that teenagers and cringy Instagram b list influencers ruined some of my favorite brands, I really don’t want to be associated with that. One thing I started to hate was people just coming up to me and asking how much did something cost me like it was some kinda party trick, instead of just saying that’s nice. I also lost 50 pounds still in the process of loosing more weight. So I got rid of a lot of my old supreme and bape tees which sucked. But now that I lost weight I feel like I have more options to try different stuff. Right now I guess you can say my style is more of a grownup up version of what it was before. I’m wearing more carhartt wip Noah stussy (now that is back to being cool) Uniqlo. I’m trying to go for a mix between Jonah hill and ezra koenig
My homie put me onto LRG/Karmaloop/PLNDR/Jack Threads. Bought from there/thrifting for a few years. Even though almost all of those fits were bad and far from my style now (love for color was consistent though) it was what laid my foundation
Colors really started grounding reality for me at some point and I wanted to be able to pull from a large reservoir of em for my style. Wanted to be able to emulate all the great colors I'd see just being outside but needed more knowledge in terms of what clothes to pull from.
And that's where discourse here/people I've met off of here/friends that I've made elsewhere that are into clothes play a huge part.
karmaloop
Im just innovative. I’m always thinking 3-steps ahead of everybody else in the fashion game. Never once followed a trend.
basically I only partially follow trends. I have no brand loyalty so I basically just wear w/e I think will look good on my body. I been dressing loose/slightly baggy for the past 5 years and have no plans on stopping
I didnt really have a style. As a kid i was really into fashion, shopping on karmaloop and plndr, streetwear s***. but i had a dark period early in my life where i basically did nothing and i hated myself tbh, now i am an adult with self love, so im just now starting to develop my style once again but this time finding what i like and not chasing trends like how i was in school
@Vox is indirectly helping me, along with others in this sxn. And ive been paying attention to the colors and textures of nature. they have been inspiring me to no end in terms of this new style im cultivating.
Started buying mallcore
Then dressing in old, oversized, hand me downs
Discovered TEACHING REAL MALE FASHION youtube and the soundcloud scene started popping off so i pulled from both
Started buying everything i could afford that i thought looked nice, was thinking in terms of individual outfits, also buying clothes for when I got slimmer
Noticed i didnt wear a lot of clothes i bought and started researching how to build a capsule collection and how to make a cohesive wardrobe, slowed down my buying a lot
Eventually learned different self imposed purchasing rules so now I just buy what i really love and constantly mix and match things in my closet to find new outfits for old pieces.
Im into history so I like wearing vintage stuff
That‘s really cool. Especially if you find like some old brand that doesn’t exist anymore.
Trial & Error, Personalizing trends + incorporating outside influence that resonates with my spirit

seems to be a similar way everyone does it. especially the "buy up everything cool" and then taper off into buying by the item and by specific style(s)
very interesting
