It is kind of crazy he was able to drop 808s and Yeezus without flopping

You serious? 808s was a flop at the time. It did 450k first week. Graduation did 437k first day. It was a huge drop off in sales

He will probably never have a billboard top 10 hit again so he for sure has lost commercial viability. The album sales will do good because of the equity he has build with his fans but to the mainstream Ye is irrelevant

    lmfao

  • Jun 25, 2022

honestly if he wanted a hit so bad he coulda just dropped new body or some other chart bait

450k is still 450k, and two top 10 hits

And Donda was released on a Sunday too, less tracking days for the charts

Donda was a commercial success all things considered

  • Jun 25, 2022

True. What that gotta do w what I said?

  • Jun 25, 2022

Because of a confidence level being on 100

He has lost commercial viability to an extent. He hasn't gotten a notable hit since how long?

His albums will always do nice numbers because he has a huge cult/fanbase regardless.

Donda outsold Kendrick and nearly every rapper that has released recently besides CLB. Praise God did numbers on tik tok too

  • Jun 26, 2022

Kanye's Spotify streaming numbers at put him at #15 in the world right now with 52 mil

That's higher than any rapper that isn't Drake

  • Jun 26, 2022

Catchy songs are catchy songs no matter how you wrap em

Why not? People were screaming that s*** at Coachella and whatever festival Future was doing that Kanye showed up at

They think something only a hit when its in the billboard top 10 being played 100 times a day on the radio

They dont care these are literally multi plat songs lol

  • Jun 26, 2022
    VVV

he has 51 million monthly spotify listeners.

Man is the most streamed rapper after Drake

He just doesnt have the industry support anymore so he failing on radio mostly

He got it almost back with MBDTF and then he dropped Yeezus

He got it almost back with TLOP and then he dropped ye and JIK

It will be always the same with him. His next album could be his biggest since Graduation and his next album after this is some very experimental s*** again. He lives for this

As soon as they like you make em unlike you

Cause kissing people ass is so unlike you

The only rapper compared to Michael

Feel like All Day was his last real attempt at a hit

    or I Love It

I love it was a track meant for the p***hub awards or some s*** lmao. The video just made it go viral. Not intended as a hit at all

I never heard that song anywhere and it didn't do any notable numbers so I'm not sure about that.

FourFiveSeconds was the last true hit I think

  • Jun 26, 2022

If it weren't for his over the top antics during the promotion of his last few albums, he would've lost his viability a long time ago.

Has to an extent if we're being honest.

  • Jun 26, 2022

Ye can get away with many things

  • Jun 26, 2022

Because Kanye made commercially viable songs, regardless of what he ventured into.

The Beatles pulled this off to an even greater extent. They went from being a more credible One Direction to being a more commercially accessible Radiohead.

Even 808's had "Heartless", one of Kanye's biggest hits. Not to mention his features on "American Boy", "Put On", "Knock You Down", and even "Run This Town".
