i feel like such a d***head but i laughed at some points listening to bro musici wouldnt tell him he sucks honestly, id just say i personally dont like it as much and dont feel like i could work with him due to that

One of my high school friends who I’m fairly still close to has been trying to do this music thing for about 7-8 years, mind you he’s never been good but he’s kept trying. Fast forward to 2021 he’s now releasing tracks and man I get second hand embarrassment listening to him do this….he has not improved AT ALL. I really don’t want to come off as a hater but now he’s wanting me to collab with him. What would y’all do?

Sep 21, 2021If I was you I wouldn’t say anything except if it’s encouraging. It’s not worth potentially ruining a friendship just so you can criticise him imo (unless he asks for honest feedback but even in that situation it’s better to be constructive).
Why is it so important to crush dude’s dreams? He’s not harming anyone by the sound of it.
Let him rock, I’m sure he’ll figure out on his own that he isn’t gonna make a career out of it when nothing pops off.
If I was you, I’d even do a collab
he might realise how much better you are and ask for advice or it’ll dawn on him that he doesn’t have what it takes.By the sounds of it, not that many people will hear the track anyway (unless you got a decent fan base) and as long as you go hard it won’t matter. Drake collabs with artists people trash all the time. Everyone mocked smiley’s verse on over the top and still said drake went off
