safeI agree that drake has lost a lot of that energy. But I also feel like there’s very few rappers who have been able to keep that hunger. Someone like Jay Z is a great example. 4:44 is a fantastic album and there isn’t a verse on that that sounds ‘hungry’. Kanyes another one. Rapping wise he hasn’t been hungry since Yeezus. It doesn’t mean he can’t make good music it just means the music he’s making changes
This is true but Hov did keep that energy fairly consistently up until WTT imo. From RD to WTT, I can't name too many albums where he just sounded bored. Maybe Kingdom Come but that's really it.
Hov is more picky when he does get that fire, but I even feel like he gives that passion vocally more consistently than Drake has in a while.
Even when Drake does those bars on bars type songs they lack that fire that 5AM in Toronto or 6PM in New York had.
