Felt rushed to fit his grand idea and makes sense since it was last on the priority list that summer
Ghost Town is incredible though
ghost town
no mistakes
violent crimes
and wouldnt leave feels like a tlop song too
I Thought About Killing You & Ghost Town are both 10s so we won there. I really don’t understand why there’s not more love for I Thought About Killing You in general, original sample or otherwise
It’s decent for it being made in less than a month but I wish he dropped the original album he had planned instead of once again derailing his plans after an episode.
This was def the first time that he did this but I didn’t expect the following releases to be like this one lol
iconic era and moment when it dropped (for good and bad reasons) and like w pretty much any Ye project it’s got some of his best songs ever, but it always leaves me wanting more and the post-Yeezus laziness w a couple trash bars shows up on this one and always rubbed me the wrong way
would’ve been a fine ep but bc it’s not it feels like a quickly thrown together collection of tracks with nowhere near as much cohesion as anything before it. kanye’s worst is 90% of niggas’ career best but Ye feels more like a footnote in his discog than anything else does, the first time it felt like he was chasing waves instead of making them
I would say it’s his least memorable era
It's a nice little project, I think coming off the big hiatus really hindered it. Plus the whole hype and rumours of him being in the mountains solo producing again to only come up with a 7 song album that is slightly undercooked just didn't mesh well
Having said that Yikes is still song of the life
good but i def hold everything post-TLOP to a lesser degree in my mind
also ghost town is super overrated imo but i just don’t like 070 shake like that
Weak album overall, none of the Wyoming albums aged well aside from KSG. Ye especially feels rushed just because he wasn't sure when exactly that month Drake would be dropping. Sometimes I wonder what could've been if Kanye took his time and wasn't focused on beef we could've got a better album. I literally forget it exists i just go from TLOP to JIK
I would say it’s his least memorable era
Not at all lmao JIK is that but this is the start of the general decline for him in all aspects and it’s still remembered as the MAGA era which is something that will never be forgotten unfortunately.
It’s sad cause KSG probably would have gotten so much praise if he wasn’t wildin.
Ghost Town is one of my favorite Ye songs ever but it literally pisses me off when I hear the lyrics “I put my hand on the stove to see if I still bleed”

Interesting point you brought up about the Drake stuff which I think is swept under all of this cause of the hat. That was a big factor in all of this as well too
Also the younger people really like it. Guess that's a common theme for more personal and emotional albums.
honestly, when it came out, i quickly judged it and thought it was trash.
but now that ive had time and space to properly judge it in its full essence with a clear head, i realize it really is one of the most pathetic efforts ever by any artist to attempt to make music that doesn't shriek mediocrity

JIK is Yandhi era, come on now. As a fan that era was crazy with all of the leaks. That plus it had Sunday services and Coachella and a movie screening and was when Yeezy brand officially took off crossing a billion. IG rants, there’s so much from that era
Only thing memorable about Wyoming Sessions is slavery is a choice, Pusha/Drake, and KSG
OG i thought about killing you, ghost town, violent crimes and yikes, rest is forgettable

Slavery is a choice is more remembered by everyone outside of Ye fans than anything he’s done after that unfortunately.
Son lost A LOT of his fanbase in one day because of that s*** and gained new annoying fans lol

He wasn't wrong
relistened to it on a plane ride, its below JIK for me but still a classic, i like the concept of 7 songs albums, because it makes every song on the album classic, his weakest solo project tho
