I’m a pretty erratic human being. My mind runs everywhere so I’ll start doing something and forget to finish it. Also have a bad habit of constantly using my phone or scrolling through the web when I could be more productive. Simply put I lack discipline, this year, I’d like to take time to actually learn some new things and excel in things i do. What do you all do in terms of staying disciplined whether that’s towards goals, work, working out, art, life in general, etc.

    Thanks in advance 🤝

Might sound goofy to some, but meditation for 5 minutes in the morning set me up to be a lot more focused for at least the next hour or two afterwards. And then a focused start to your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day

Kind of, I read a book by the Dalai Lama a couple years back, it was pretty simple though. Just sit upright, close your eyes and for 5 minutes focus your mind on one single object or concept. I had some old prayer beads from my father in my hand that I tried imagining as detailed as I could, it got easier with time. I’m sure there’s other techniques, prayer etc. It worked for me tho.

    YUCK imagine living like this

This is a huge stumbling block for me but meditation and exercise is really the only way. And a consistent sleep schedule.

The opposite of what you feel like doing in the moment, but that work you put in will make future present moments more fulfilling, and eventually those habits will just be a part of your mindset and you'll find new things to grow at.

achievement of goals is primarily based around your dopamine system.

every time you get closer to the achievement of your goals you get a hit of them s***s.
if you fry yourself out w d**** or video games or tv or anything of the sort, those hits from the goals won't do it for you and you'll resort to stronger forms of the aforementioned vices. balance (switching back n forth) is tough, you'll notice if you get the first three hours of your day right, the rest comes easier. i usually cut it all out or do a weekday grind weekend relax cycle with little "all out breaks" that last a week to a month once or twice a year.
you won't hit elon level gains like that but it's the best way i've found thus far...

also avoid carbs till night / sleep time
