It starts with a sleep schedule imo
I’ve always been most disciplined when I sleep at the same time and wake up at the same time every day
you keep it written
Start with just one aspect in your life which you want to be more disciplined in - whether that’s sleep, exercise, diet, etc. And focus on just that for a period of weeks/months. Trying to do too much too soon is a recipe for disaster, your brain and body have gotten used to doing things a certain way for a long time so you need to ease yourself out of those habits rather than try to make a drastic change which probably won’t be lasting

My sleep schedule so I think I need to work on this. I sleep anywhere from 1-4 am and wake up 7-9
What makes u say that lol, this doesnt man dont do anything
Just what feels right, ull be miserable if u force yourself into s*** u hate?
your monkey brain naturally wants you to hop on an endless treadmill of short dopamine hits. its happy to eat fatty foods, laze around, and distract itself until your senses go numb and you lose the willpower to do anything meaningful
you need to impose some order or control over your life or youre gonna self destruct

the investment of discipline is one day at a time. nothing more, nothing less.
mindset: make it competitive. you aren't going to lose to yourself or your former ways. keep track like a win-loss record.
I hold myself to high standards. Moments where I lack discipline or self control disappoint me and make me think less of myself.
If I set out to do something then I do it and I do it to the best of my ability. Anything less would be disrespectful to myself and what I'm capable of.

yeah bro and what do those people have ... discipline
thats the entire point

Yeah but yall trying to come from a point from forcing yourself into healthy habits
I have ADHD and have similar problems, read atomic habits its a really good book about buidling discipline. All self help books are dumb except for this.
Or watch this
For tasks I just write down three or four main things i want to do for the day and immediately start working on them. I use a pomodoro timer to track how much i worked. Cross out when you finish one task do it and 'reward yourself' with like 15 mins of screen time or something.

For sure
But wind yourself up too tight and you gonna snap one day. That can be a big factor in breakdowns. Like everything, it's about balance
I know you weren't saying it's not about balance. Just if you push yourself and regulate too hard then that can be bad too for your mental. Some people end up snapping because of that and then benefit from becoming less goal obsessed and more laid back.
Also some people are just more free spirited and can get through life like that with no problem. Or maybe that's how they need to get through life to cope. If it's making you unhappy of course you need to change but it's not inherently bad to say be happy with your job and be enjoying your comforts and the simple s***
Just sit down and meditate , theb visulaize what u wanna achieve in this life and use your goals as motivation man

Yeah start by sleeping and waking up at the same time and have schedule that starts from the moment you get up. Try to get up before everybody else does too, for some reason getting up while everyone is still asleep just helps
For sure

Yeah I feel you for sure. You def need some balance/space to indulge
and I agree that ultimately it comes down to what makes you happy. like if a person is living in the most instant gratification-y way possible but it makes them genuinely happy in the long run, more power to them
although it seems like most human beings are not wired that way
