im sure u guys have some thoughts
killed the optimism of the dawn of a new millennium and resulted in a lot of unnecessary death and trauma. it was a tragedy.
it's mind blowing how lax airport security was prior to 9/11
Remember it being the first time that I noticed we were being lied to by adults as a child
“They hate us for our freedom”
Yeah buddy I don’t think that sounds right
Disconnected tbh. I was a baby when it happened. I just remember people crying. I didnt know what was happening.
Then the war that probably broke america in Iraq. Which is wild because 9/11 was caused by saudi Arabians being protected by Pakistan. And America not even mad at them. We're taking that blood money right now in bundles. So all good ig? That feels really weird.
Just alot of weird s*** that happened during it and after it. And I was getting hit with so much propaganda as a child I had no idea if the war was a good thing bad thing or what. Who am I supposed to be mad at? Who am I being unnecessarily mad at?
Tragic is the best thing to say fr
I was a young ass kid when it happened. I was confused af cause we were getting out school early (in Texas) and I didn't exactly know why, but all the adults were panicked as s***. It actually took me months to realize "oh that happened that day"
I had a morbid fascination of researching anything 9/11 related for like two months when I was younger
The government could've prevented it but let it happen to use it as an excuse to invade the Middle East for oil. The cherry on top of introducing the surveillance state. Everything wrong with America today can be traced back to 2 major political events. 1. WTO deal signed by Clinton and 2. 9/11
No other 2 events in American history can still be felt will continue to be felt as much as those 2 events
I had a morbid fascination of researching anything 9/11 related for like two months when I was younger
Twin
I mean what is there really to say. Sad that innocent people died of course but it was a domino effect of actions that our own government directly or indirectly had a hand in. It also will probably be remembered as the turning point of decline for the US as THE superpower we continue to fall into scary lows
I work at a bank whose HO is near there so every year there’s remembrance
But it was only this year I asked a few of them - who were recently transferred from US to UK - Just what was it like working on that day
Truly harrowing
I was very upset about it as an 8 year old when it happened. But I also knew how stupid the islamaphobic people were at the time. By the time Trump started running for president is when I started caring about politics and my view on the world has formed thru the years as I’ve grown more concerned. Trump 2.0 is exponentially worse than Trump 1.0.
With how our govt operates it’s easy for me to believe that they were behind 9/11. I’ve never fully dived down any rabbit holes but I’ve seen things here and there that are interesting like this pic of Israelis celebrating and taking pics with the towers falling in the background
Made my life a lot harder. Kids always calling me a terrorist and asking if my dad was one of the hijackers n s***
