  • I vaguely remember the day but I was so young like 6 years old. I remember my ex and I watched like hours of coverage a year or so ago on YouTube and that’s when I learned a whole lot of the actual details of how things transpired. In addition I also listened to the Blowback podcast season on that whole situation as well. Crazy stuff.

  • “The attacks that day united a nation in grief, patriotism and defiance and prompted an outpouring of global solidarity. A quarter of a century on, that sense of unity has proven increasingly elusive, as Americans’ divisions deepen and their politics grow ever more febrile.”

Uh oh guys something coming soon

Witness the venerable German composer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, whose shocking remarks at a press conference at a music festival in Hamburg six days after the attacks made headlines. The events of 9/11, he’d enthused, were “the greatest work of art imaginable for the whole cosmos.” Things had gone from bad to worse to incendiary when, like Batman’s Joker, he warmed to his theme: “Minds achieving something in an act that we couldn’t even dream of in music, people rehearsing like mad for ten years, preparing fanatically for a concert, and then dying; just imagine what happened there. You have people who are that focused on a performance and then 5,000 people are dispatched to the afterlife, in a single moment. I couldn’t do that. By comparison, we composers are nothing.”

  • Absolute tragedy. And 25 years later, we still have so many unintelligent Americans who has no problem just attacking anyone with Muslim faith for what happened. The lack of thought process to come to this conclusion is staggering. The fact morons has no problem blaming a 9 year old Mamdani is

A tragedy. Turning point in history truly. Pre 9/11 and post. I know there’s a lot of people from outside the US so it’s hard to really connect and care, and that’s totally fair.
I for one was only 7, but I know classmates who knew family members or family friends that passed away

I remember my cousins telling they can smell the smoke all the way from upper manhattan.

One substitute teacher in HS recalled seeing the George Washington bridge FILLED with not cars, not trucks, only PEOPLE walking from manhattan to New Jersey. Innocent lives and innocent emergency workers lost their lives over the games of the government that didnt intervene (the FBI and CIA didnt even talk to each other back then either btw)
The owner Larry Silverstein just coincidentally missing his first work day ever on that day… 2 trillion reported missing from the pentagon just days earlier… the “war on terror” that ensued right after… and more and more that just maddens me the deeper you look

Anyway, here’s an editorial comic I’ve seen since a kid that always tears me up when I see it

Rest in Peace to the victims

  • saying the govt caused the blowback isn't attacking victims

  • proper 🔩

  • I hate the irony posting abt it

  • CIA let it happen on purpose

  • Agony and misery for those impacted

If you haven’t really traveled around the states you don’t know really but the impact it had on my area is everlasting.

If you lived elsewhere, while it obviously isn’t just any other day, it certainly doesn’t hold the same weight

    Oh wow

  • In a completely horrific tidbit that I learned just this year about 911 was that after the first tower was hit people started evacuating tower two. while people were evacuating a commencement came on the loudspeaker that told people they were safe to return to their office if they wanted to and survivors state that people when they heard this did in fact, go back to their desk right before the second tower was struck. It’s such a perfect encapsulation to this country and the rat race that is the United States of America.
