I love that person on the first page who insinuated that black artists owe white musicians because they’re derivative
Then couldn’t actually give me a real example beyond Uzi mentioning Manson and Paramore, and he may take inspiration from them aesthetically, but he’s always mentioned them for cool points more than anything.
Even if it was more than an aesthetic it’s still wild to use the word owe when black music has been completely stolen by white artists for decades
S*** like that just makes me think some of your other opinions might be even worse

As a paramore stan I cant say that I notice any paramore influence in uzis music yeah
I think he just loves hayley as like a celebrity figure and the aesthetic of 2000s emo pop stuff
He did actually try to collab with her once but she said no. I wonder how that would have sounded

Exactly, and a lot of these guys do, again, aestheically take from a lot of 1990s/2000s pop punk / emo stuff
But musically there’s really not much of a correlation
Of course the emo rap scene is one thing but implying Carti, Lonely, Uzi, Ken, anyone in that circle tries to incorporate that sound into their music is a stretch
The closest thing you could maybe say is that Lone and Hardrock sampled Deftones but that’s really it
They know you too well then
They don't know me at all cause I ain't see no Bionicles on that s***

pretty much
How when Uzi, Carti, Lonely and all derivatives of that sound owe a lot to White musicians?
