just so i can get an idea. your bill is $15, sever comes to take your order, fill your water once or twice and to check in on you, and brings you your food and check, how much are y’all tipping? this scenario i guess i’ll describe as baseline service.

    $5

BTW if it's bad service my only tip is gonna be "hey this is how you do blah blah blah etc.."

If they do it in a timely manner and they're cool, I'll give them 20% easy. That's exactly what I want from my service. I don't wanna be bothered constantly. I just wanna eat in peace.

  • It’s not even about compassion because i care about my fellow man, but you can’t expect people to tip, we’re all under different circumstances in life

    REMINDER:

If an employee's tips combined with the employer's direct wages of at least $2.13 an hour do not equal the Federal minimum hourly wage, the employer must make up the difference.

i’m also going to guess that 90% of the people who are anti big tips or tipping in general, myself included, have not worked a day in their life in the restaurant industry? maybe i’m wrong tho

    Embarrassingly cheap b******s ITT.

If you can't afford to tip don't go out to eat, there's nothing more to it than that.

Do you tip the little Indonesian kid who gets paid 40 cents a day to make your Nike shoes? You swing some money to a charity in Pakistan, India?

Don’t think so, you should walk bare feet you scum.

Cool I don’t care. Welcome to the world it’s a cruel place. Don’t expect strangers to care about your life.

It seems like you may isolate yourself from particular demographics of people, not that that's a bad thing.

Do you think you have more people around you who agree with your stance on tipping, or do you find yourself to be an outlier within your social circle?

That's how it is for alot of y'all. Once you've worked in the service industry, you gain perspective and understanding of why tipping is the right thing to do.

lots of people "anti tipping" want restaurants to raise food costs to give waiters higher hourly wage. idk if most waiters even want that tho.
