Joining the military is not a survival choice, whereas working in restaurants is the only way I can get paid.

I still think you're looking at this whole thing all wrong. I'm saying you should quit, or find a way to get discharged. Military folks treating you like s*** is not right*, but but it is the same at every job with management giving employees s*** (to far lesser degrees I imagine), but we are talking about people going out to eat, when they can easily stay home and cook. If you don't want to tip, then cook your own damn food and serve it to your damn self.

*you saying to suck it up basically misses the entire point. You shouldn't suck it up either. No one on Earth should "suck up" being talked down to.

Educating people why tipping matters is literally what this is

Working in service, whether it be waiting tables or not, should be done respectfully, and people act like actual toddlers all the time when they don't get their way, and will take it out by tipping badly, or writing a bad review, or yelling at a worker. It's legit insane that this is acceptable behavior and Ima make a case to combat it. The real world is the way it is because it was set that way.

I know exactly why people join the military. There are variables, but as a means of survival is only through manipulation by a recruitment officer. Time is our most valuable asset and by joining the military you may potentially cutting your amount of time short.

The military's only purpose is to destabilize regions for the purpose of natural resources in those regions. Poaching young adults (ages 17 - 24) from broken and/or impoverished homes into joining by promising a free education, or career, etc is legitimate manipulation. None of it is necessary.

That said, restaurants aren't necessary either. So if you don't want to tip, don't go out to eat.

Okay man that’s irrelevant this post is about whether servers are entitled to get a tip.

I say no because they’re doing a job that requires no skill. That being said I still usually give them tips because I’m a nice person.

I don’t see what there is to argue about.

And I have an issue with anyone saying it requires no skills.

Legit I work on a team of like 20 servers and bartenders and only like 6 of them are good, and that's rare. When I go out to eat, most servers couldn't do what I see a small amount of my co-workers do. (I hate that I recognize that I am good at it, too. Do not mistake me saying I'm good at it as a brag.)

But even bad servers deserve to be tipped. S***, they may even be just having a bad day.

Exactly. I know some bad servers who get away with it cause they have great personalities with the tables. I don't go that route at all. I try to be as efficient as possible by maximizing my time through multitasking, keeping a rotating memory bank of a lists of tasks I am needing to do at every given moment.

A "culture" based on destabilizing countries in the name of "freedom," is a propagandized culture. I'm sorry, man. I can't say anything to make you unlearn how you think.

I'd recommend War Is A Racket by US Marine Corps Major General, Smedley Butler. Let a decorated officer tell you instead.

Yeah man no. I can tell you firsthand that the POGs I see every day sitting on their asses in air conditioned rooms getting paid for doing nothing weren’t manipulated.

The military is genuinely just another path that you can take to elevate your life and your social status. I don’t know why you people think everyone in the military is a trigger puller killing machine. It’s just a f***ing job.

Most of these guys just sit on their asses and collect benefits in exchange for temporarily losing their 1st Amendment right.

You’re technically right but you’re also extremely incorrect at the same time.

The National Guard is also a part of the military and they do riot control and help during natural disasters. The Coast Guard is a part of the military and they chase down cartels treading on US waters. The Army, Navy, and the Air Force constantly use their power to create new technologies and do research that has changed the world and continues to change the world.

So yes the military’s purpose is to protect the United States but to say that’s the only thing they do is just false. Nowadays we barely even have to do that since we’re already so powerful.
