Hello, f*** niggas!
For my first thread, I wanted to ask a you guys a question. How do y'all listen to a whole album of trap/gangsta rap music?
I ask because I cannot imagine listening to that type of lyrical content or sonic soundscape for an extended period of time, especially outside of a club setting.
Please discuss.
If you're into it, its pretty fun to immerse yourself in that perspective
I think the gangster rappers I listen to most are ones who have a bit of nuance in their lyrics. To a certain tier of street rappers, they know there's a time & place where people wanna hear the ignorance & puff their chest out, but that life is bigger than just toting the biggest gat and rolling up on the opps and stuff. Its about the balance

I feel you, f*** nigga.
'If you're going to rap about d****, you have to rap about the hangovers." -Danny Brown
It's rare that I hear nuance in the art form, but I am open to any suggestions.
I never understood how niggas woke up playing drill music at 7am
Me either, f*** nigga.
Women would pull up to work at 7 a.m. bumping Sexyy Red back when I worked at redacted.

Appreciate the recommendations, f*** nigga!
It's late where I am, so I will have to check this out in the afternoon (because I can't listen to this type of music too early or too late).
Listen to it in full when it comes out + talk about it with friends + pick the good songs and exclusively play them from then on.
tbf tho I do that with pretty much every album
how do you guys listen to rock
Can't listen to a metal album for similar reasons.
But I don't know who "you guys" are, f*** nigga.
All these gimmick accounts f***ing suck.
What gimmick accounts specifically, f*** nigga?

I promised Dave I'd never use the phrase "fuck nigga"
He said, "Think about what you saying: 'Fuck niggas'
No better than Samuel on the Django
No better than a white man with slave boats"
Sound like I needed some soul searching
My pops gave me some game in real person
Retraced my steps on what they never taught me
Did my homework fast before government caught me
So I'ma dedicate this one verse to Oprah
On how the infamous, sensitive N-word control us
So many artists gave her an explanation to hole us
Well, this is my explanation straight from Ethiopia
N-E-G-U-S definition: royalty; king royalty - wait, listen
N-E-G-U-S description: black emperor, king, ruler, now let me finish
The history books overlooked the word and hide it
America tried to make it to a house divided
The homies don't recognize we been using it wrong
So I'ma break it down and put my game in a song
N-E-G-U-S, say it with me, or say it no more
Black stars can come and get me
Take it from Oprah Winfrey, tell her she right on time
Kendrick Lamar, by far, realest Negus alive
