"it's the exception to the rule that trap albums are usually not good."
DS2 out now
I agree that "DS2" is one of the best works in that genre. Even then, I can't listen to the whole thing in one sitting, f*** nigga.
LMAO!
Seriously though you’re point is kind of moot considering future is the father of trap and makes the most melodic tunes ever , don’t understand how that could be abrasive to anyone

I'm trying to stay positive with you because you are one of the most active posters on KTT2. However, you are consistently engaging in unnecessary insults, f*** nigga.
Now that I think about it, you were hating on my dawg @Fedor back in the day!
F*** you, f*** nigga!
To honestly answer the question though gimmicks aside:
The trap/gangsta themed hiphop music has longggg expanded past the point of something like everyday mixtapes that have 15 of the same sounding beats and same subjects
Over the years more and more has been absorbed into the genre or there's been musical blending in production where there can be just as much variety in the way the music sounds as any other type of album if the artist chooses to.
I feel like a lot of 'gangsta' rap albums would still have love songs on it or at least some vulnerable s***

I guess I grow to dislike the content more as I grow older, f*** nigga...
OP its all going to be okay. We're here for you and there's people that want to see you doing well.

Glad you brought that up, f*** nigga!
In addition to the content and sonics, the redundancy of it all is a huge non-starter for me most of the time.
Perhaps you can recommend some albums in the genre that more diverse production (e.g. "Rodeo"),
