Finally getting some interviews but honestly I’m just trash at them. Only did around 2 interviews in 2020 and getting more now. It doesnt help I graduated in 2020, so I basically forgot the s*** I learned

I think its best if you dont try to memorize the answers but just go with it. I got fake experience written so I have to fake some bs skills/stuff I did which makes it hard.

My interview next week is for a job offering $85k help me out

    Congrats on your interview!

If you still have a copy of the job description, look over it again and go over your story about why you can nail each point, with a real life example.

Focus on soft skills and show you are personable and easy to work with. There's nothing wrong with pausing and thinking about your answers before you speak. The worst case is opening your mouth and telling a story that goes nowhere.

Situation -> action -> result, this is how you want to tell stories

Research the company and find out what they do, how they operate, what your department actually does

Go on Linkedin and look up your interviewer to get a better idea of their background.

Overprepare is good, say your answers out loud and take it seriously and you will do great! Good luck OP

but jokes aside always ask as many questions at the end as possible. ask them about their journey and how they ended up at the company and what they like and don't like about the company and anything else that they might have asked you that you think could also be applicable to them. people f***ing love talking about themselves so give them as many opportunities to do that as possible.

talk about the company's history and culture and talk about how you've always respected the company and how it aligns with your personal philosophies.

I read about the STAR method on wallstreetoasis, been practicing a lot of behavioural questions through that too

Also, just relating to job description or also to job responsibilities?

this leaves a good impression. If you the type to not have any questions for the interviewer once you're done that's phuccup number 1

“Why do you wanna work here”

Tf u think need the bread

“I want to work for XYZ because I believe this organization is a leader in (whatever field), and I want to employ my skills and knowledge to helping the company grow”

Thats what i used to get my position in a hospital.

Interviews to an interviewer are about finding a candidate that

    1) They feel is the least problematic as it applies to whatever responsibilities are required (wont cause a fuss)

    2) Is not only skilled, but a fast learner and self sufficient

    3) Is overall a pleasant and agreeable person

If you can touch those bases, everything comes down to charm and the way you carry yourself. Ask questions, be assertive, smile when you talk, etc

I would say job responsibilities & description. You want to show them why you can do the responsibilities and that you have a good understanding of what the job is.

Imagine interviewing for an accounting job and saying "oh I like numbers" they will think you are an idiot lol yknow what I mean.
