You could definitely go that route. You can also go the informant route where niggas don’t know one of they own (who handles the filming) is passing the footage to the feds, mix that up wit the body cam footage whenever they meet or do their bust.

The idea of filming is realistic too, a lot of people may not realize a lotta niggas are flashy and love doing wild s*** on camera. It’s always been like that, that’s why movies like Snow on the Bluff and Gang Tapes exist. Essentially it could be an updated version of that and End of watch.

I fw the informant angle more cus the tension is already there. You never know when s*** could go south. Lotta ways to go with this kinda premise actually

Yeah but then you don’t make the informant angle cliche/cartoony like “in too deep” (even tho I f*** wit that movie as a street flick) you more so go the “Judas and black messiah” route where you show the internal battle of back stabbing your people (like they did with Lakeith character)

And then opening is important. You either set up back story from the start like Judas, where we see Lakeith character get arrested and then hit with an ultimatum from the feds.

Or you start already inside the story like “Baby Driver” where Baby is already doing getaway driving for bank robbers and then a little bit later you find out he’s only doing this because he owes Kevin Spacey character money.

Just depends if you want a slower pace (Judas) or if you wanna start fast from the jump (baby driver)

When it comes to that cliché, unfortunately that all depends on who's making the film and I don't trust a lot in Hollywood to handle it that well, even though Judas and the Black Messiah was fuego

Yeah Judas is smart because the internal conflict is screwing over your own people to help the white man. Especially when the guy you’re screwing over is all about helping black people progress in life, which white folks are scared of. That’s great internal conflict.

Whereas something like In too deep, that doesn’t exist. He’s undercover going against gangsters he barely just met and doesn’t care about who isn’t doing any good in life. His only “conflict” is not wanting to get killed, which he isn’t even scared of. (My bad not even sure if you’ve seen “In too deep” im yapping as if I know you have lol)
