Euphoria to me is the best diss track sonically out of all of Drakes battles

In my eyes, I don’t think MTG and NLU work as well as they do if Euphoria isn’t as good as it is.

A lot of people have mentioned it ITT already but the timing and execution of all of those tracks really propel them to a higher place. I remember pre-Euphoria there were TONS of people just straight up not taking Kendrick seriously; then Euphoria dropped and it was a consensus “Ah s***.” moment lol

    And Euphoria

Euphoria was the first track and that wasn’t a KO

    Pusha ended it with SOA

True but Drake came back right after and was mostly fine. Not Like Us finished him off and you can tel he’s fully shook because he’s getting lawyers involved lol

The track turned doubtful gossip into mainstream news and gave Drake's image a heavy blow back then. And his rapping is top notch too. But I do agree with your take on those type of diss tracks although I'd blame current day rap ''fans'' for that. Reception decides everything

heavy blow? he broke records with scorpion. he pretty much experienced zero setbacks commercially and in public perception. nothing was going to touch drake back then even if this kendrick beef happened back then he would've been fine. not enough people hated him or disliked him as a personality trait at that point

the only reason he's finding it more difficult to recover from the kendrick beef is because his popularity was already waning since he's been doing this for 15 years already

You expected more than Euphoria? That far exceeded my expectations. His ability to balance humor with actual cutting disses was incredible to me.

“Back to back I like that record!”

Complimenting the person you’re dissing is so funny to me. Like when Kanye said Wiz has cool pants in his pre Pablo crash out lol

euphoria was his best for sure but I expected more as far as delivery and energy goes. he sounded the most believable on like that and I wish he kept that energy the entire beef

Pusha writes with a fine-tuned brevity and precision that I don't think either Kendrick or Drake can match. He doesn't suffer the same shortfalls that the other two do with Kendrick's often clunky phrasing or Drake's run-on sentence bars.

How is this nigga Drake still doing this.

Bino made NLU v1 with this is America. Before that Common tried to get the nigga out the paint.

If literally anybody instead of Meek came with the casper s*** we would be somewhere way different now.

How is SOA so potent and only 3 mins long. Every word is precision at its finest. Insane.

It most definitely had an impact on his public perception. It removed his armour of invulnerability.
It wasn't something that affected his career but it showed that he wasn't invincible

The timing and nature of Kendrick’s disses couldn’t have been more perfect. I don’t think I can pick one over the other. Both SOA and NLU achieved the same objective of knocking Drake over and sending him spiraling. In terms of the quality of the diss , MTG takes the cake. Song is basically a darker and more detailed version of Story of Adidon

I feel like the reason he’s so special to me is every song has a completely different angle and delivery.
