    black hedi slimane

pink diamond is crown jewel of her discography fs she uses that flow on club classics and as great as cc is pink diamond is just so raw

but cc appreals to the masses more so it will never be recognized as such 😔

Used to think so too but Paradise took it's spot

Brat is great at what it does but How I'm Feeling Now is an era defining album, not only for how it utilized that wild hyperpop production but also for how it captured the feeling of the pandemic. Instant classic. Brat slaps and it's the album of the moment but it isn't emotionally resonant like that.

    yeah i mean... yeah

  • Jun 15, 2024

    bad opinion OP

  • Jun 15, 2024

b**** please, hifn wasn't as focused as this and definitely not thematically and lyrically.

listen everything about hifn being top tier is the entire situation surrounding the album and how it was really (interactive but remove that and it becomes another charli mixtape with bangers,
where as brat really shines with the actual music, from the lyrics, to the production(from the moments where it's peeled back and when rammed up) to what she references in the music, to the production references and combos. This album is a really well curated effort that really draws from so much inspiration, it really does feel like a career defining pop album especially for the kind of pop star that charli is and a pop album that the many like her before could never achieve.

You articulated how I feel abt it perfectly

'brat' contains (a bit) more career highlights, though.

  • Jun 15, 2024

How I'm Feeling Now was a necessary step on the way to Brat. I think both successfully met a moment both in her career and in pop culturally at the time (as did the mixtapes tbh) but Brat in particular feels special. I really need to revisit HIFN though, this thread does make it seem like a worthy comparison. Either way, Charli has to be in the same convo as Carly and Caroline in the modern artpop pantheon with both in her bag.
