one of the most intense arguments I ever had with a shawty was over involved arguing which one of Quincy Jones album/works we liked the most and why (and also Batman, they was a fine ahh nerd)
...needless to say I never felt more attracted to another person than in that moment lmao so....yeah, it means a lot.
Don't know anyone I've been with who has the same taste as me. I prefer the difference, I love the bonding that happens when you learn your partner's taste in music. It's like the secret language of their soul.
0 unless they are like obsessed. There's a girl in my class who is an obnoxious Taylor stan and she repulses me.
It never really mattered in my relationships. I once dated a girl who was a Fifth Harmony stan for three and a half years...
my music taste is so wide it’s very unlikely to exist a complete incompatibility
Music taste is very important as that will be what’s playing in some of our most memorable moments. Luckily my girl appreciates my wide range of tastes and I like her R&B, conscious rap and indie tastes
Don’t have to like the exact same s*** but there should be a general overlap
Could never seriously date someone that listens to country and Taylor swift type music
To me we bond closer if we like some of the same artists. Like my music taste is diverse enough that I probably got artists that we both like. Like I met an indie fan that likes Childish Gambino (post camp god forbid I be friends with someone that likes Camp) and we were cool atleast
Musical crossover would be nice but not that important. I like listening to different music, as long as it's not ukelele happy s***.
Or generic white male pop like imagine dragons and Maroon 5
I thought this until I had to sit in a car with shorty playing just awful country music on a CD on the way to the beach
Longest ride of my life I couldn’t find any enjoyment in that particular artist
God forbid this too
white girls are cool until they try to put you onto NF
Or the s***ty generic indie pop they love now
Or generic white male pop like imagine dragons and Maroon 5
If she play maroon 5, I might crash out
general friendships not at all tbh, even in relationships it ain’t super important, i kinda like everything tho so that probably helps
I think it’s also important when sharing music. My girl has put me on to a lot of gospel and sad whiteboi music and I’ve put her on to a lot of rap, especially trap. Being able to share and then she comes back with a full playlist or vise versa is an amazing experience

Idk if you play ass in the car I can’t fw you
Dating is compatibility testing. Idk why people compromise the basics in a world with billions
Anything but Taylor Swift I’d say. Was talking to a swiftie and she never told me she liked Taylor. Just said “I listen to pretty much everything”. Red flag to be not upfront and fully honest. I believe that s*** is called lying by omission. Not good long term. Not even saying this just to throw shots at Taylor either. It’s a character thing
I hate when people say that, I want to know your taste

Fellas and gyals will tell you they listen to everything but do not know a song outside of Top 40 Hits Radio!
Really important. Can't date a b**** who likes russ or logic
I'd rather a girl not like hip hop at all than listen to Logic
Fellas and gyals will tell you they listen to everything but do not know a song outside of Top 40 Hits Radio!
Ppl say sometimes they say that bc they don't want to make conversation about music... alright but if you tell me you listen to everything and don't give examples I'll assume it's just today's hits on spotify
