Drake WonI don’t get why people use the amount of time between albums as a barometer of success. Every album Kendrick has dropped has been a certified classic. Honestly everything he’s dropped since O.D has. When you have a run like that you’re in the conversation no matter what. Kendrick could never drop another album again and he’s still in the GOAT conversation period.

Long album cycles and being lazy aren’t the same thing.
That being said you aren’t the GOAT if you drop albums then hibernate IMO, but that’s just from me growing up as a Wayne stan and watching him out rap niggas every other week.
(In on another Kendrick critique thread tho, and thread critiquing him is bound to pop off)
This is ALL I'm saying. Is Kendrick undoubtedly one of the greatest rappers of his generation? YES. He forever holds that spot just off his catalog up until this point.
HOWEVER, you can't make those claims when you have peers out here outdoing you work ethic-wise, commercially and who are dropping good enough music that's aging well and keeping the game alive. It simply doesn't work lol.
I'd understand if Kendrick was in his mid 40s or something, but he's not. His last album dropped when he was 29. He's 34 right now. I mean, come on.

Zack From The SixKendrick is one of those lucky artists that can do no wrong to some people. He is the critics little darling. Remember when Drake took a small break and the whole industry was talking about him falling off?
Kendrick has to come with a certified classic due to the long break.
Drake disappeared for less than 6 months and people IMMEDIATELY started acting like his career was over lmao. All that showed was that people were mad he's been running the game for the last 13 years and want him to be done and all the success he saw upon his return showed was that those same people missed him and can't do with him going away even for a little bit.

I guess what folks are saying is no one has dropped projects as impactful as Kenny. Not a lot of artist have made social/poltical records that charted.
