moroccans don't need visa to go there, so I think they're not as racist as some chinese people (for example)
The only thing they don't tolerate is cheating on your husband or wife

search on YouTube. you'll get much better answers from people who have lived or traveled extensively there than from people just guessing or repeating what they heard

wasn't coming at you specifically, and you're probably right about the Pakistani population.

No, dude, you just have to make the effort to reach out to them and be friendly. What do you expect when they have little to no experience with black people and you're already giving them the stank eye, rationalizing their preconceived ideas about you (likely from media) even more?

Some of y'all have this complex about Asians being racist due to media's portrayal black people and you know this, but have no desire to change their perceptions and let them know you come in peace. How are you gonna expect to change anything when you're too busy giving them the stank eye and being passive-aggressive towards them?

Most people in homogenous countries are going to be wary of foreigners regardless of what skin color you are. You just gotta make sure to let them know you come in peace.

This is the prime example of how it's done. People love it when others are respectful towards them. Just smile and show them you appreciate and respect their culture.

I get that it's wrong to have any prejudice in the first place, but being passive-aggressive about it isn't gonna help either. You're going in there with the mentality that every single one of them is out to get you. Isn't that the same thing you're saying they're doing?

I'm not assuming all black folks do that. I'm assuming that's what you do based exactly on what you said. You're assuming all Asians are racist towards you; there's no way you're going in there smiling, engaging in casual conversation with them.

At the end of the day, all this is based on fear. You're scared of them because you fear they're racist. They're scared of you for the exact same reason. No one's going to solve this or change anything if neither side puts in the effort to change each other's perception.

Hell, a lot of Asians are terrified of other Asian ethnicities due to stereotypes, past wars, and previous political conflicts.

I'm not saying it's alright for them to be prejudiced. I'm saying their prejudice is likely a deep-rooted misunderstanding due to limited experience with black people. Who says you can't be the person to change their perspective?

My best friend is Vietnamese and his family is like my family. My nephew is half Korean. My boy always tells me about his fam overseas and how they’re afraid to come to the states due to all of the black people. I never said they’d do anything hateful they’re just afraid. I just said I’m not going out of my way to prove to someone I’m not evil due to their ignorances, I’ll just speak when necessary and show I’m a regular person lol. You generalizing I’m a mean dude because I’m pointing out facts is hilarious

Thanks for providing more context. I get it now. Like I said, prejudice is wrong and sad.

I assumed you were a mean dude because the first thing you said as soon as you came in this thread was a negative generalization about Asian people and left it at that. It doesn't matter how nice you are of a guy. If that's the first thing you have to say about a whole group of people, what are you gonna expect people to think about you?

But now that you gave me more context, I know you're a decent guy and I respect that. Trust me. The older folks can be stubborn and it seems like it's a lost cause trying to change their perspectives, but not all hope's lost. We can only try and hope the younger generations are more open-minded.

    Love brother

I appreciate the talk. I'm Southeast Asian born and raised in the U.S., so I know what your friend's talking about. We got a lot of immigrants coming over, seeing or experiencing bad things from black people, because they start out living in hoods, sometimes the worst areas in the country. Unfortunately, that's all they see and all they know, so they assume all black people are like that. They dial back home and tell their friends and families about this, so the ones back home start believing it. That's how stereotypes spread.

It's all sad. Exactly why I think it's a huge misunderstanding that, hopefully, we young ones can clear up and bring real changes.

I'm passionate about this topic because I just want us all to get along and see just how much we have in common culturally. It makes me happy when I see us appreciating and respecting each other's cultures.

It definitely exists, but going about it by generalizing all Asians as this and that doesn't solve anything. Read this convo between @Midds and me to see what I'm talking about.

Every single time I see an Asian-related thread on KTT, I know someone will say something about anti-blackness in Asian communities.

Why are you assuming that all Black people are going around generalizing Asians?

In addition, being passive towards it won’t change anything either.

Also, if you often notice comments about anti-blackness is asian communities on KTT, wouldn’t you say that its an issue then?
