The thing with Asians and supporting Trump is a bit complicated. Not all of them love Trump for the reason white supremacists do. A lot of them come from backgrounds where they felt oppressed by a Communist government, so they think anything in the United States is better than what they previously faced. They see Trump as anti-China and anti-Communist, so they're quick to love him. They think American values are the complete opposite of what they had to face and believe supporting Trump makes them more Americanized and assimilated. Trump and his supporters' labeling Democrats as the socialist party only adds to this.

It's still very misguided and I wish they'd see the real picture.

I'm not really okay with this, though dude has been my one of my good friends since early middle school and even though he's changed slightly I'm still around him from time to time. Dude turned into a Trump Supporter back in 2016 from the YouTube videos he's watched (I nearly turned into one too but snapped out of it).

For sure. There's been tension between blacks and Asians in America ever since the '90s, most of which is based on a huge misunderstanding. The only way we can solve this is by having an open, honest, civil discussion about it.

Yeah, those pro-Trump videos and YouTube channels can really pull you in if you're not careful. Do you know who Officer Tatum on YouTube is? He's a black conservative YouTuber who makes videos frequently. A lot of the stuff he says makes sense, but you gotta filter out what he says because there's a lot to disagree with.

I think people can get along despite political differences, so props to you for tolerating it. John McCain is a great example.

Funny enough the dude put me onto Paul Joseph Watson and his videos gave me perspective into Political issues, ofc from standpoint of a right-wing person. He even actively discussed with me about how people who oppose Trump are yada yada yada and made me think about it too. In addition to all this around the election time, I was starting to surf r/the_donald just for curiosity (Seeing some of my classmates go on the sub).

I was partially on the fence of supporting Trump and opposing Hillary given the overwhelming sentiments I saw on both of them especially on Youtube. Over couple of years however I stopped being fixated on politics and whatnot, until just this year with all the racial injustices occurring and that's when it made me lean towards the left again. Looking back at myself from 4 years ago I nearly felt like a fool, glad I learned my lesson.
